While I'm loving my FPS, my RPGS, my RTS and my MMOs, I feel like my brain yearns for something different. Something.. Mysterious. Basically I'm hoping you people would be willing to suggest any mystery or 'who done it' (Especially this) games that you've enjoyed and can recommend. I ask this because its not a genre that is covered as much as the more mainstream stuff these days and sifting through the crap kiddy ones to find the gem is more work then I want to put into finding a game for a few hours of gameplay.

There are a few requirements however:
- PC only!
- No kiddy games. I will accept family friendly ones if they stand out and are worth playing
- Made after 1999. My computer has a real hard time playing older games for some reason. Too advanced perhaps?
- No horror games! I get scared easily in games.

Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

PC only....that's tough. I know it's not PC but Professor Layton fits your description. It might be a bit kiddish but it's more Tintinesque if anything. Sorry if I'm not much help.

Have you looked into Deus Ex? It's the best thing I can come up with based on your requirements.

Sure, it's no Sherlock Holmes as far as the whole mystery/conspiracy thing goes, but it kept my attention throughout the whole game (or at least as far as I've gotten in the moment of writing ^^)

It's kinda horror, but at the same time it fits what you are looking for; Call of Cthulhu. It's a really damn awesome game, incredibly underrated though.

Tim Schaffer's Psychonauts. Awesome.

Need For Speed Most Wanted. Also awesome. Download some mods and it gets even better.

Download a NES emulator and play Super Metroid.

Batman Arkham Asylum. See my review as to why.

Street Fighter IV. Along with a 360 controller, you are in for a nice ride.

Myst! MYST!

MYSTMYSTMYSTMYSTMYST!

It's the best thinking-related series I've ever played. Ever.

I recommend 3 or 4. Avoid Uru (I hated it) and the ones earlier than 3 (they're probably too old to still be enjoyable/playable). Also, I haven't played 5, but I don't like the look of it.

Myst 3 has Brad Dourif in it!

Uhh.. I think you missed the point of the topic. It was meant to find mystery games.

If anyone can suggest any mystery/who done it games in a similar style to CSI and such that would be great

Short of the CSI series, I feel you're limiting the genre to something too small; there simply aren't many games to fit the bill these days, since there isn't much demand for it. There are point and click games, which can be engaging, but don't always offer "mysteries".

I've played the Phoenix Wright series, which is a decent mystery series, but for PC, I can't honestly think of one without scaring you. You may want to scan the Steam archives and look for titles that are akin to what you truly want.
