So I decided to turn my current procrastination site into something that may or may not help me with my class that I should be doing homework on. The class is "Simulation Design." I need to come up with a training game that would help fellow students prepare for an interview with a future employer. It will be done in flash because that is another requirement, not my choice.

My current idea is a boring "look and find" where the person will find all the best items to wear and bring with for the interview. I would use my house and take pictures and the game will play sorta kinda like Myst... or those other bad flash "escape the room" type games.

The topic is sooo boring it hurts to think about it. Maybe I'll get some creative fresh ideas from you smart people so I can actually make the game fun!

So, you're going to make a Hypercard based game? Neat, haven't seen one of those for a while

EDIT: Hah, just re-read your post. For some reason I missed "Flash"

It may interest you that Tim Schafer (you know, the guy who made Day of the Tentacle, Brutal Legend, etc.) actually submitted his job application to LucasArts in the form of a layout for a rudimentary point-and-click adventure game where the goal was to get a job at LucasArts. And that he got the job.

Looking into some games from the point-and-click era might give you some ideas. Try checking out some playthrough videos on YouTube!

(Especially Sierra games, since your game will be about a situation where failure is a very distinct possibility. Police Quest or Leisure Suit Larry would be great places to start, I think!)
