Need Some Tech Advice

Okay so let me first off say hi because nearly none of you know me as I stay in Forum Games mostly. Secondly, my laptop is messing up and I need help.
I got a nice Toshiba laptop for christmas and today it had to update so I let it restart. It is currently at 35% completion. And it's been at 35% for a long time now. Like an hour. Did I mess something up or is this update just taking forever? I'm not very tech savvy so any help is appreciated.

That's not looking to good.

If it still haven't finished updating; hold down the power button and turn it off. Then turn it back on.

You may be taken to a screen with a few choices. Choose "boot Windows normally" for now and see if the updates finish.

If not, hold the power button down again and turn it off. Then turn it back on. If you are brought to the choice menu again, choose "last known good configuration"

Hopefully you don't have to do any of that.

After turning it off and on for a bit it finally asked me if I would like to go back to a time when my Laptop wasn't shit. So thanks mate!
