(I do not know if this belongs in gaming discussion or help and advice, sorry)

Essentially my younger brother bought the new MMORPG: Knights of the Old Republic and he cannot play it. I read through the registration and as near as I can tell even though it comes with 30 prepaid days of game play you need to buy a separate game card to still play the game even though you already bought it. Can you confirm this? I know too little about the game and would rather somebody who has actually been through the process explain it to me further so I do not make any mistakes.

All MMOs (except EVE, apparently) require the entry of Credit Card information or a game time card before you will be credited with the 30 free days of game access. Your card won't be charged until those 30 days have elapsed, but you cannot access them until you have provided billing information.

Bloated would be correct.

Also, Knights of the Old Republic is a different game. Your brother purchased The Old Republic.

Hooray for overlaping titles.

I think I heard something about Registration keys mistakenly not being included in a bunch of copies of the game. You might want to check into that.

I fixed that. That just goes to show how little I know about it.

The registration key was included. It is just that it seems to demand additional payment before the game will be unlocked.

They won't charge you extra, they just want to force you into a billing decision before your free month is up. It's a common ploy used by all MMOs.

Yeah. Just enter in a credit card, even if there's no money on the account, and you can play until the free 30 days is up. I use one of the cheap Walmart Visa prepaid cards, myself.
