I find it funny when they bleep only the hole part. One would think ass would be more offensive than hole...

Because saying "god damn" is blasphemous because it's taking the lord's name in vein (even though that's not the lord's name, it's Jehovah, and god is simply a general term). Take out god and no theist should have a problem with it...aside from a guy cussing, I guess, if you consider damn a cuss. I don't.
So how come you can say "Oh my God" or "Oh for God's sake" on a G-rated show? That always weirded me out.

(And "damn" is just short for "Goddamned" anyway.)

Has anyone encountered this?

I saw it when I was paying attention to the television set in the barber shop, and it was tuned to HLN(a cable news channel) doing a report on the Mel Gibson call where he told his wife/girlfriend(dunno which) to basically fuck off.

Now, I can understand them censoring the words fuck and ******... But why censor the word boobs?!

What do they have against the word boobs? They bleeped Mel out when he said it.
On the radio, whn they play Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas, they censor the word "satellite"! Its not even in bad context. The line is "here we go, satellite radio, y'all get hit with the boom boom"
Most ridiculous censor ever

The context in which it's used I suppose? I don't know. I have only heard "oh my gosh" in TV-G shows. Maybe you're watching TV-PG shows and you just don't know it.

Because if it's the regular radio, someone saying "satellite radio" is kinda promoting the other guy. I have seen videos played on VH1 that blanked out "MTV" and songs on MTV that have blanked out "BET" before.

I was in a play for Drama class and we had a great peice that was really funny that we were doing. In one bit I'm talking back and forth with my female counterpart and she says "Harriet, is that a banana in your pants or are you just happy to see me?" and I answer "It's a banana. (pull banana out of pants) I haven't been fit with any male extremidies yet and I'm trying to get the hang of it. I think a banana is too big."

The principle made us get rid of that whole part because she's a crazy *****. I thought that getting rid of that part was stupid because the rest of the play talks about insest, polygamy, and has tonnes of other sex jokes. One part even implies two of the characters going for a quickie off stage! I though censoring that particular part was just dumb.

Well, being in Australia I would have to say the over censorization of L4D2. That was truly ridiculous.
But you guys don't censor your television or movies as much as anyone else in the world. When I was in Australia there was a show called 'Underbelly' being shown on prime time TV on a major network and they were dropping the C bomb, hardcore sex and drugs scenes. I was loving it! Maybe its because Australian's swear so much....

That Underbelly show wouldn't of been shown like that in the States. No chance. Count yourself lucky.

The most ridiculous censoring I've ever seen is when I was watching the movie Click on TV. I had already seen it, so I thought I knew what to expect. Then it gets to a part near the end when Adam Sandler's character is on the ground, dying, and he's supposed to flip a guy off with his dying breath, which was funny as hell the first time I saw it. On TV, though, he ends up giving him the OK sign. The movie is rated PG-13 and they can't show a middle finger?

In Rock Band 2 they censored "ass" from Feel Good Inc., so when you're singing it goes "linin' them up like *silence* cracks"
It just sounds retarded and if I didn't already know the lyrics then it wouldn't be hard to figure out what they were saying so it's also ineffective.

Anyone ever heard of Enid Blyton's book series "The Magical Faraway Tree"?
It used to be about a bunch of kids called:

-Jo
-Bessie
-Dick
-Fanny

Now its about:

-Joe (cuz Jo apparently isn't a boy's name)
-Beth (Bessie isn't a common enough name)
-Rick (*facepalm*)
-Franny (*palmface*)

Don't fucking mess with classic literature you retards. If parents are that fucking precious with their kids (over irrelevant bullshit no less) then don't read them the fucking book.

It's espcialy funny when I noticed it the first time- on LOGO, a GLBT Network (Admititly he was CALLING a guy and asshole not like "I'm gonna fuck your asshole, but the point stands)

Also, I forgot about the censoring of "*****" in Devil Went down to Georgia in Guitar Hero 3 (I told you once you son of a I'm the best there ever was). It's so damn noticeable.

I find most censorship to be needless, but, I'm weird like that. I still find some weird things that can't be said on TV and Radio, but i guess I like to think people are able to handle "dirty" words (Since 'Fuck' is a normal descriptor word for me)
