Alright, this is not going to be a full lets play (I think) but I felt like it would be fun giving this fun game my own little story and as I were doing that I thought I'd share it. So, here goes, my little AAR (Or maybe more properly described, my story) of my first game of Neptune's Pride!
Starting of 8 days into the game, mainly because I the first days weren't all that interesting, still, We'll see how this goes and if it's any fun to read at all I'll be updating this thing daily or every other day, depending on what happens.

Supreme Commander Edraii C. Karziko, Entry "Political Situation" Dated 2617-384 MST.
"F***, I can't believe this, for all our technological advances we're still prone to losing all our recent information due to a system failure! I should have known better than to trust a tincan and those technicians using them, I'll make sure those techs will get what they deserve! Either way from now on I'm writing this by hand.
A lot of things have happened recently, our empire has been expanding very rapidly bringing a lot of planets under our control, this is all very good as our production is at an all time high, but all is not well, with expansion comes enemies, and our glorious nation is currently locked in a war on two fronts... But all is not bad as we have an ally. Still, the real strength of our empire is our great tactician and glorious Supreme Commander Edraii C. Karziko, for this is my empire, and nothing shale stand in it's way!
On one side we have the evil AI race known only by their leader, the QXU, according to our spies their fleet is twice the size of ours, and they've begun to move. Why cant these simple machines just understand that we are superior and that they exist to serve us? And can you believe this, yesterday I heard someone suggest that these machines could have emotions and individual thoughts, what nonsense! He was dealt with swiftly before he could poison the minds of the rest of our people. They are but tincans, and ugly tincans at that! Thus, they must be destroyed for the glory of our empire!

On the other front we have the rebels faction known as "Popular Myth", I have to say, that is an appropriate name since the "Freedom" their leaders preach is just that, a myth. They believe that they can just leave the empire and populate their own part of this galaxy, MY GALAXY! These rebels will be crushed and anyone that haven't surrendered days before we reach "Their" planets will be shot on sight. If my empire needs anything less than thinking tincans it's freedom loving rebels following some mythical prophets!
Thankfully, our situation is looking better than the war with the 'cans. Our fleets are equal in number but once again we hold a technological advantage over these rebels as most of their equipment is based on older models of our own. In the end they are nothing but filthy rebels living of the work of others.
Last but not least I'm not really sure what to think of our alliance with the Mayeagen Federation. So far we have exchanged technology advancing both parties beyond the rest of this Galaxy. A few days ago I sent a request for reconnaissance of the rebel core worlds but I'm still waiting for a response. Ever since we received that new diplomat communication has been much harder, I'll have to remember to request a replacement tomorrow.

Supreme Commander Edraii C. Karziko, Entry "Operation Stranglehold" Dated 2617-384 MST.
Currently, our military situation could be better, according to our spies our enemies together outnumber us 3-1. Not even my genius strategy can prevent losses if they started working together, so let's pray to all hell that they don't, the last thing we want is the rebels supplied with tincan technology.
Either way, we're currently in phase 2 of Operation Stranglehold. Operation Stranglehold is a plan I devised to both buy time for our glorious shipyards to build up our and and at the same time cripple the economic infrastructure of our enemies, the plan is based around small Strikefleets consisting of a few fast and powerful attack cruisers. These cruisers are the best the empire has to offer with expertly trained crews. However, because of the long training required for them our nation is lacking in numbers, that is what this operation is buying time to fix.
The goal of these Strikefleets is to dance around the main fleets of our numerically superior enemies and strike poorly defended planets on the outskirts or even behind enemy lines, razing any economical centers to the ground and capturing any vessels that are in production, destroying those that cannot be brought online within a short amount of time. At the start I thought it was ironic how my great empire is forced to conduct a form of guerrilla warfare, but this is only possible because our enemies are a bunch of idiots.

The QXU Conglomerate have redeployed most of their reserves into two "Superfleets", currently we have nothing that would be able to stop these massive fleets should they decide to invade our home. Luckily, those 'cans are to busy chasing our smaller fleets around, not understanding the concept of encirclement and outflanking is our saving grace when fighting them. This has allowed some of our smaller groups to push into their core worlds, as our fleets are much faster than those blobs we can outmaneuver them. Hopefully it will stay this way until we can produce enough ships to properly deal with those massive blobs they call "Fleets"
However, to be able to deal with the QXU we first have to take care of our mythical little rebels. I'm confident we will able to strike the decisive blow any day now and once we do, the rebels will be finished. While distracting them trough border skirmishing I've been able to send a detachment fleet around and we are soon able to commence the third step of this operation. I'm not able to reveal the third step as of now if this log, however unlikely, was to be compromised. But rest assured, the days of the rebels are numbered, while it might look like a stalemate with the border planets changing hands back and forth, that is but to the untrained tactician. While time is not on my side we are sill outproducing the rebels by a factor of 2 in all aspects, a few more days and we'll have an overwhelming advantage and they will easily be crushed. I've even made sure to secretly erect a forward base near their central system, that due the their inferior sensor technology they have yet to discover.

Some people are skeptical of my ability to win this war on two fronts and would rather negotiate for peace. I'm going to have these people disposed of as soon as they are proven wrong, it runs in the Karzikan blood to rule, and rule flawlessly!
