If I had a missus, I don't know if it'd be romantic, but I'd influence her to keep spending time with her friends.

I've noticed the women in my family and my friend?s girlfriends tend to drop all their pals as soon as they get a boyfriend, which they spend all their time with (usually ending in disaster in the long run). I wouldn't want my other half to end up a recluse because of me.

OT: My approaches to romance generally screw up. Such as buying a girl roses when it turned out she was horribly allergic to pollen...

Because if she was then I am sorry but the moment I read that I became hysterically amused by a combination of pity (for the failure of your romance (seriously mate, I wish it hadn't turned out that way, I really do)) and sheer frankness (the way you wrote it was so hilariously blunt).

If she wasn't, then I am even more sorry.

In the long-term she came out of it ok. In the short term she was in hospital for 3 hours on an oxygen tank. This is one of the reasons why my school mates think I'm cursed with this stuff.

Another girl had serious nut allergy. Go on guess what type of chocolate I used when making her brownies.

I spoil her rotten all the time. Clean the apartment, cook her awesome food, take her out, buy her things, etc, etc. Lots of corny romantic stuff. She's slowly becoming a nerd as well, she offers to play games with me now, instead of me having to ask her.

We're playing Sacred 2 now, co-op. She doesn't quite understand the mechanics of RPG's yet... so I take all her good loot without her knowing. WIN!

EDIT: oh yeah, most romantic thing I ever did. Probably taking her to the beach for a picnic at night on Valentines Day, gave her a cute teddy and locket on which I engraved our secret love code (Yeah we have a secret code, corny, I know). She still tells all her friends about it all the time.

I've also never really been much of a romantic. I normally date women that look past that garbage..

Did date one girl, though.. A writer.. She was away at school which was about 6 hours from where i was at. Turns out i apparently have a bit of a knack for writing...errr..erotic fiction. I used to send her daily stories.

Unfortunately, i was a bit too effective, and she got all wound up and wound up cheating on me.

Yeah, i don't employ that particular skill in the dating scene anymore.

I don't know if this counts as romantic in any way, so I shall let you folks decide - I don't consider myself to be that romantic, but would like to think I could be given the opportunity.

My ex used to love those Me to You teddy bears and every now and again while we were out shopping or walking round town, I would sneak off while she was looking at stuff and go get her one and then hide it in her bag, or shopping trolley etc. She always seemed pleased when she found the little suprise.

Anyway content time. Probably most romantic thing I did was take my girlfriend for Valentine's breakfast at this nice little French Cafe overlooking the sea. It was simple and in itself doesn't sound hugely romantic. But we were the only ones in the cafe and I just remember it as a beautiful time spent alone together.

I'm going to be honest, I love nerd guys. I find they're intelligent, helpful and generally more romantic than most people give them credit for. If you have a girlfriend, what's the most romantic thing you're done for her? If you don't, what would be the most romantic thing you would do when find her?

Two occasions vie for first place.
1. Took out for dinner and dressed up as a pirate as a surprise after we got home. (Not a special occasion, just did it).
2. Made a one of a kind card based off of an image I found online, then wrote a note on the inside in Mandarin using a Chinese petname she had for me (she was Taiwanese). I left it on her desk where she would find it while I was out alongside some flowers of her favorite color. (Valentine's day)

Well I don't have a girlfriend, I do have special feelings for someone but we kinda had to put a next step on hold for now. Right now I'm already prepared to give up my whole life for her and leave everything I have behind, but I'm not sure if you can call that romantic.

Umm...gee I've always seen myself as the romantic type, but it's hard to make something up on the spot you know.

I guess I could collaborate with friends/family on Valentine's Day or a special anniversary to create a treasure hunt. I would prepare clues, hints an directions, hand them out to people I trust (and if they screw it up for me, I'll hunt them down until the end of times and consume their souls) on certain spots, each person holding a rose to give to her when she gets there. She would end up on a nearby hill (or park or something, a pretty, secluded spot), where I prepared a pick-nick, and we'll just eat together while we watch the sunset, and later just lay hand in hand watching the stars.

That'd be pretty romantic I guess, how does that sound OP? Relies on a lot of people though, maybe I could work out a version that doesn't require a crapload of other people, although the roses are a nice touch, I think.

Don't have a girlfriend, but I consider myself very romantic.

I don't know off hand what I'd do for her particularly that I can say would be romantic, but I know that I'd be very sensual and I'll always be there for her when she needs me. I'm also usually the one who refrains from any sex and I usually say "I love you" first, which is exactly the opposite of most guys I know.

Usually everything that I pride myself on that's romantic is considered a very "girly" thing for me to do.

I love long walks with someone, I love to cook, I like candle lit dinners and all that jazz.

I am a nerd boyfriend...though my girlfriend, if pressed to label herself, will refer to herself as a dork and is a big fantasy (and vampire >.<) fan.

I'm hopeless at romance, which has caused a few uncomfortable moments when I try and fail, so I stopped trying. We both are okay with that xD. I do show her I care all the time though, and she's still with me after a year and a half, so I must be doing something right.

For my ex I took her to lunch, during dessert I peaced, payed, and had the waiter give her a clue to her first objective. At every objective she found a new clue to the next objective (7 in all I think) and at the end there was a gumball machine in her parents' garage with a bag of quarters and each ball had a little gift in it with a reason attached to it for why I loved her. The [supposed to be] last ball [ended up being like 5th to last] had two tickets to 'Les Miserables' in France and the printout of our flight itinerary. It was pretty labour intensive, but rad.
