After the animated version of a manga I love added a character who was basically an evil nutcase version of one of the three heroines, I decided to write a short description and concept of the how the other two heroines evil versions would have turned out

Somehow though I can't seem to mention my manga collection to my work colleagues, though...

At my previous work some co-workers knew. Read some when i was on my break and alone in the staffroom. At first most thought it probably along the lines of pokemon (at least better then the sex and violence stereotype). My boss who walked into the staffroom once asked what it was so i handed it. Later i found out he just barely missed a very white-out censored yaoi scene that I did not know contained. (It was Yami no matsuei rated T+ not a rating you expect sex to be in, kissing yeah but sex >.< )
Most of the stuff I read is shojo or josei romantic comedy so it would just be a little embarassing, but some of the series I love like Angel Sanctuary... I just wonder how the hell I would explain that to someone. There's no way I would come out of that sounding wholesome!

During school breaks I would often stay inside and read history textbooks, comics and other similar things.

Was addicted to WoW for quite a while.

I detest playing and watchings sports.

Those are the mains ones really.

I hide nothing nerdy. If people think it's strange that like do wierd stuff or like shows not intended for my gender and age group (Brohoof), then that's their problem, not mine.

I wait until I really get to know someone before I tell them I like anime. Either that, or I come right out and say it if they come out first.

I hide nothing from my friends. Most of them are nerds too so I can share all my nerdiness with them. The only thing they don't really know about is my fascination with the paranormal. Not that I'm embaressed about it, just never really had the need to mention it. Other then that, no secrets.

I play Runescape.

Not a particularly nerdy thing, a ton of people have played the game, but I started about 8 years ago and still play it sometimes today.

I've had a slew of accounts, but my main account that I use is level 112 with almost 1400 total level, and I've never purchased membership once.

Anyone who knows much about the game will understand that that represents hundreds (maybe even over a thousand) hours of gameplay.

I admit playing it to no one.
ahh runescape....did you know I won free membership with a christmas card competition from around..09 I think

and dammit I'm PROUD of that!

but yeah, I did get a bit addicted, and played on and off for many years,

(btw hae you logged in recently? is it me or has the place been completley overun/screwed up by the bots?)

This thread is forever lulz.

The number of MLP:FiM responses is fantastic.

I'll say FiM would probably be mine too. If someone finds out, I don't really care, but I don't go pointing it out either.
My friend walked into my room the other day and I had left my FiM folder open and on my wall (12' projected screen) and he was like "Dude, what the hell? Are you really THIS out of stuff to watch?" I just said "Nope. This is what happens when you spend too much time on The Escapist. Curiosity eventually gets you. Show's pretty awesome." and he shrugged and that was the end of that.

I'm not especially geeky in a single area, so I get away with seeming very normal, but I have kinda the whole spectrum of geeky interests. A Jack Of All Trades geek, if you will.
Most people who know me quickly figure this out.

I know how to play Magic The Gathering (tho I myself own no cards), I play D&D (and own nearly all the 3rd edition books), I paint Warhammer 40k minis, play 40k and own nearly all the 3rd-5th edition books (hell, I'm Internet Famous among the online Space Marine community), I have more Steam games and PS3 games than I have time to play, I have an action figure collection (albeit a very small one), I collect TV shows, I collect music, I collect books, and I regularly rewatch old Saturday morning cartoons(I watched all of Justice League and Batman Beyond a month or two ago, just finished Spectacular Spider-Man, currently on Young Justice, about to rewatch Spider-Man TAS).

I have no urge to hide any of this.
And to anyone who thinks I SHOULD have the urge to hide any of that - when I close my eyes to go to sleep at night, the last thing I see is the hottest girl I know laying next to me. ...So contrary opinions are meaningless to me.
Life is chaotic, but life is good. Very good.
what kind of action figures do you have?

I have a whole bunch of gaming ones, I supose you could call it a collection, though to be honest I dont really do any hardcore "collectors" stuff..I actually take them out of the boxes :p

if I got shepard then I would own the whole series od "ME2" figurines..however Im not sure as shepard is female to me...(I probably will..mabye I could stick a little red wig on him :p)
Just random stuff. I don't care to keep them in their boxes either. They're all lined up on a shelf along my ceiling above my window.
Basically I collect figures that look "right". Ones that get the character sculpt dead perfect, ones that are badass, etc.
I've got Goku and a Piccolo my dad found one day, a Spider-Carnage, a Spider-Man from Spider-Man 2 (best Spider-Man figure ever. Has like 50 joints on a 6" Spider-Man), Marvel Legends Icons Doctor Doom, Silver Centurion Iron Man from Iron Man 2, some Gundams from Gundam Wing, Megaman X in his gold Hyper Armor from Megaman X3, a Chewbacca statue, a samurau statue, a black knight statue....Kratos in his God Armor with the Sword Of Olympus and Blades Of Athena, an Armored Core from Armored Core 3.....I forget what else.
awsome..but yeah, some are definetly better than others

its most annoying when you cant get them out of a "stiff" and unatural pose...worst one for that is probably Duncan from dragon age, its so bad I cant even get him to stand up..

funny thing is he came with his little "grey wardan" challace (or cup or goblet) so it looks like hes just passed out drunk on my shelf..I may just have to superglue his feet to a base

See all four Assassin's Creeds, Prototype, Darksiders, etc...

I tend to be pretty unapologetic about who I am. That said, I don't tend to mention that I still actively play with my enormous collection of Lego on a regular basis. They know I have it, sure, but not many people know about the countless hours spent creating characters and elaborate stories to go with them.

EDIT: I didn't realise collection action figures/toys was a secret nerdy thing, so I should mention my 7 display cabinets of them. Not even slightly ashamed of them though. That reminds me, I need more cabinets, my current ones are starting to overflow...

I play a lot of games.

I collect various anime figures, Manga and DVDs

I have at least 300+ Yugioh cards and I still play the game. (Yay for the Crystal Beasts)

I haven't cosplayed yet but I want to.

My friends including the non nerdy ones (then again all my friends are gamers, I'm just talking about the ones who don't collect cards or watch anime etc.) know about this and they accept it.

Also I strongly believe that you shouldn't have to live your life as a secret, be proud of what you love and if the people you call friends insults you for it. Then why call them a friend in the first place?

Add shounenai to that list and it is what i read/watch a lot(as long as it has a good romantic story i will look into it). I think i can top the weirdness of angel Sanctuary, I own the manga "Yubisaki milk tea" and except for my 2 best friends i am not telling anyone else i own it/read it(lets just say the crossdressing in that series is the normal bit).

Oh wait i know something else i do not tell friends(though it is not really nerdy). I cry easy reading/watching sad stuff (like fruits basket i am watching again). This is also why i do not read romance/drama stories in public.

Points to Avatar.
Are you suggesting OP is the chick, or OP has some sort of obsession with said chick, or am I completely oblivious to who that is?
I believe he was talking about his twilight sparkle MLP avatar.
My god how did I miss that? Seriously. I didn't read it like "I point you toward my avatar. Duh." How dense am I? Apologies to any and all involved in my misgivings.

While we're on about nerdy stuff, how nerdy is pirate knowledge? And singing pirate songs? And Paul and Storms "The Captains Wife's Lament"?

I used to have really, really long hair and when I started getting obsessed with LOTR I would always wear my hair like Legolas's, side braids and everything... Let the mocking commence

Nothing really. I have the Catherine, record of agarest war, and otomedius excellent pillows all displayed proudly on my bed. every special edition box I own is displayed either on my tv stand or dresser along with any displayable items that came with them including a figurine of Fuka from disgaea 4.

despite all this I somehow manage to have an acceptable appearance and a healthy weight.

it's as if being a nerd doesn't automatically make you fat and ugly.

edit: oh and I have a fuckton of posters on my wall.
