So, I've finally jumped on the Netflix bandwagon. Having a good time so far (Justice League Unlimited is on here!), but I've only dipped my toes in the anime section. I'm aware that Canada's Netflix options are rather limited compared to the USA lineup. I've gotten by on old standbys like Trigun and Samurai Champloo, but the rest of the selection is utterly alien to me. I'm in the mood for some good action shows, but most of these titles draw a blank from me.

So, could some of my fellow Canadian members who have netflix recommend me some shows, or at least put me on the right track? The rest of you are welcome to chip in as well, but just know that I'm working with a more limited catalogue here.

Animes are one of the easiest things you can watch on the internet.

If you haven't seen Deathnote that is a must. Classic. Pretty sure Canadian Flix removed it though. Don't go past season 1.. you'll regret it.

Welcome to the NHK. More of a somber show that mocks anime culture and modern day hermits. Is on Netflix still.

Psycho Pass, second best anime story I have seen next to Deathnotes first season. Might be on Netflix. There was 2 or 3 episodes involving a sadistic high-school girl that... guuughuhghghghghghghghhghghg... you might want to skip that.

I checked a site that should have anime that is streaming on Canadian Netflix, I'm just going to pull from that.

Baka and Test is a great one. Need some simple laughs? You got it. Need simple, likeable characters? You got that. The dub is excellent as well. One of the few anime I actually watch dub over sub.

Madoka Magica is really awesome. I won't spoil anything, so just watch it. You won't be disappointed.

My Bride is a Mermaid is really funny. It's mostly a parody and don't worry. You actually will get the parodies.

Some other ones that you should watch a little bit of would be Sword Art Online, Soul Eater, and Okami-san and her seven companions.

Stay away from Sekirei, Moon Phase, and Kaze no Stigma.

Well I'm not interested in Crunchyroll, if that's what you were implying. I'm just sticking to Flix for now.

I've seen part of Madoka, enjoyed some of it but I'm not too keen on magical girl shows, even ones that turn the genre on its head.

What is Baka and Test about, exactly?

Baka and Test takes place in a high school where students battle with avatars. The classes are divided by classes A,B,C,D,E, and F. The story follows class F and their adventures and whatnot. The show really has no overarching story, just a bunch of random funny moments. In the second season, they spend three episodes trying to peak into the girl's bathroom. Don't go in expecting an amazing story, you'll be disappointed.

Edit: Fanservice is pretty much kept to a single character too.
