I've been rewatching the greatest piece of Canadian entertainment ever put to screen lately (Trailer Park Boys) on my Netflix. Sadly they were missing season 6 and 7. I gave it some thought and decided to check the American Netflix, so one quick IP change later, and the complete series minus two bonus episodes is available. A Canadian made show which received grants from the Nova Scotia government was available near completion for American viewing.

Has something similar happened to you? Who do we blame? Does America deserve to die for this?

That's an... interesting situation. On a side note though, last time I checked SG-1 was currently available in its entirety on Canadian Netflix while for now being down on American Netflix. Really the problem is probably only going to persist for older shows since newer ones tend to have the contracts more often now have "universal digital rental" in the contracts so the problem of cross boarder distribution is going away. It'll probably persist with the older shows we are actually paying to watch though.

I've been getting into the Louis Theroux documentaries lately and it bugs me so much how random the selection of what episodes they have on Netflix UK is. They're all made by the BBC, and most of the ones not on there are years old, so why aren't they on there? Content licenses man, they're so bad.

The Netflix recommendation algorithm is shit, despite all the money they claim to have poured into it. I recently signed up for a trial account, since I cut back my cable to the most basic channels. (Most of what I watch is online these days.) After rating over four hundred shows and movies, what are its top picks for me? A mix of things I've already rated and children's shows that it's pretty sure I'll hate.

I could do better than that with half an hour and some basic Python. :p

It has failed me and I live in the U.S. I've heard multiple people say their country has The Girl Who Lept Through Time. It is the only anime movie I want to watch, but I know I can't just watch it online or I'll lose interest. It's supposed to be one of the best romance anime in existence, but I can't watch it!

Damn first world problems!

Well I'm just happy that MIB: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited are now playing on Netflix Canada. So I'd call that a win.
