WalMart usually has it. That's where I got my copy.Ragsnstitches said:The Secret of Nimh is the only big loss for me on that list. it never airs on TV and it's impossible to find on DVD in stores.
And Titanic. That kinda blows my mind. I don't personally use Netflix, but that's just strange. Oh well, streaming sites will always exist, no need to get too bent out of shape about it.Fasckira said:Interesting list, Im surprised they're chopping some of the classics like Top Gun for example.
I go on the Escapist to watch funny videos and I wind up finding the greatest movie-title-monologue I have ever read. hat's off to you sir.Dr.Awkward said:Consider this a letter to the movie industry.
I'm going to give you the rundown here - You need to really learn to do the right thing if you don't want to go up in smoke. It's this body of evidence that make you a hard target for pirates. These aren't some desperado mystery men or some kids in the hall coming out of the Russia house that you can throw cuffs on and put away to solve the problem. These people are different kind of species. In fact, they can't hardly wait when they gonna get you sucka, when they finally form the dream team that's capable of making you running scared. Then you'll have to pick up the remains and go back to school to learn how you transformed your own industry into the Titanic. Unless things change, this is as good as it gets, and the best of times have past; no requiem for a dream that will make them disappear, no eternal sunshine for the spotless mind, but instead what dreams may come are dark shadows that will overcome you. It's time to form a platoon (despite the odd couple you are), fight back, show your true grit, and win these war games using unconventional tactics. As for advice, I can tell you that throwing a brick at them does nothing either. And when you win, you can go back to being the faculty, instead of soldiers, jarheads, windtalkers and top gun pilots you were in this war. But remember what you have learned, for there will always be times of war and peace.
So, in the end, if you want the industry to see another October sky, it's time to change. No shorcuts. Do this in the name of the father, the producer of The Great Train Robbery. Are you getting this all through the skulls of your pumpkinheads? Because if you don't, you'll find yourself half baked and flashdancing in Flint under the name "Foxy Brown" aka "The Woman in Red", getting your electric boogaloo on like it's a Roman holiday in front of Mr. Bean and Rob Roy, your most frequent customers. Meanwhile, you're hoping to move up to the best little whorehouse in Texas. Is that the kind of direction you want to go?
Unfortunately I don't live in a country with WalMart. But thanks for the tip anyway.Bara_no_Hime said:WalMart usually has it. That's where I got my copy.Ragsnstitches said:The Secret of Nimh is the only big loss for me on that list. it never airs on TV and it's impossible to find on DVD in stores.
....
I have nothing else to add. I'm a Hulu girl. And yeah, Hulu does the same thing sometimes, which sucks when you're in the middle of a show when it gets pulled.
I'm pretty sure they didn't get rid of them so much as they couldn't get them back. I think Amazon even advertised the exclusivity of Avatar, so I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon was more to blame than Netflix. Which wouldn't piss me off so much if I could ever get Amazon to stream properly.soren7550 said:I'm still mad that they got rid of all the Ghibli films and Avatar: The Last Airbender. This isn't helping matters.
Well yeah, but I would hope we could separate Netflix's uses from the long term.Chaosritter said:Another reason why physical medias are far superior long term...

Wait, what? How does that work when only a few of the movies being removed are even noteworthy?Crazy Zaul said:So now Netflix is changing from 90% shitty knock offs and super low budget movies to 95% shitty knock offs and super low budget movies.`
Can you get it shipped online?Ragsnstitches said:Unfortunately I don't live in a country with WalMart. But thanks for the tip anyway.
Ah. Hm. Have you tried looking online? I bet Amazon or Ebay has it. Or are you worried about getting the wrong region encoding?Ragsnstitches said:Unfortunately I don't live in a country with WalMart. But thanks for the tip anyway.

Unless I cam physically touch it or it's directly beamed to my computer I just don't put money towards it. It's a stigma left over from being burned from early attempts at mail order. My loss, I know. There are few places where it might be stocked, but I rarely get the time to go there.Bara_no_Hime said:Ah. Hm. Have you tried looking online? I bet Amazon or Ebay has it. people dont actually rip films from netflix....MinionJoe said:That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm wondering if these films are all from one publisher or studio. Because I know Sony and Universal are both gungho about controlling their online copyrights. Maybe they've been stewing about people ripping films from Netflix.Strazdas said:Ah, the evil corporations fucking up costumers again but costumers are blaming the middleman, because surely its netflix choice to take movies down and not the copyright "owners".
Unfortunately, it's month end and I don't have time to investigate the movie owners at the moment. I'll look into it on Thursday.
