At times people may ask me what I think about certain topics and I tell them of how I stand neutral on those topics. After that most leave me alone but there are some who jump down my throat of how I am wrecking things because I choose not to take a side.

I do not understand this. They ask me for my opinion and I gladly give to them but when it does not agree or disagree with theirs they get mad about it.

I consider myself pretty open minded and I would like your opinions on neutrality and how it affects people and the world. Also,

I wish for this thread to be a civil discussion. If someone is in disagreement with mine or another persons idea's I wish for it to be discussed in a rational manner.

A discussion about neutrality? hows that gonna work?

person 1: hey, I'm indifferent to everything
person 2: hey, so am I.
person 3: I am not angry, nor happy about this outcome.
person 1: tell my wife i said 'hello'
I don't really mean this as much as political neutrality or same-sex marriage neutrality.

Yes, but what does it take to turn a man neutral?

Edit:
I'm pretty much neutral towards anything I don't know much about.

Neutrality is a hard thing to maintain I try, and succeed. When you stay neutral to any conflict though you start to realize that it does turn those around you against you because they come to the conclusion that you're non-essential to things around you. Although it does seem slightly hypocritical to have a discussion in the support of neutrality rather than the indifference of Neutrality.

I know how you feel OP. People always expect you to have an opinion and when you tell them"I dont care" they for some reason feel insecure.

When they ask me "Why you dont care?" I usualy respond with "I do not have enough knowledge or personal involvement in the subject to have formed an opinion. Information provided by you alone will be biased and as such not enough to form an accurate perception." They usually leave me alone after that. And yes I do say those exact words.
I just tell them "I'm a personified Poland", or the words "Neutral Party" I do actually say those.

I just wish to know peoples thoughts about neutrality. If I came off as supporting it I had no intention to.

No, I wasn't talking about your post, I was talking about mine. I read over it once and thought it sounded like I was supporting it. You're fine by my standard.

If you wish to comment about that you are welcome to. This is about neutrality in general.

I have neutral feelings towards neutrality ;) Obvious shit jokes aside, what's the difference between neutrality and apathy? They both achieve similar results.

While not quite in those words, that's pretty much what I say towards most topics that people bring up to me that I really don't know/give a damn about.

For some reason, they take it as a personal offense and I still cannot quite understand why.

Yay Futurama.

I'm pretty apathtic about most stuff which is kind of the same as being neutral.

Apathy is laziness while neutrality is when you do not pick a side.
