I've tried posting this one the Advice section but so far, no ones been very helpful. So here is my re-post:

I'm running into problems installing Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum on my PC. So far I've been getting this message: String ERROR_DX_INSTALL was not found in string table.

Can someone please clarify this for me. I've sent Atari Support the same message containing the problem but I really don't have 7-10 business days. The BX that I go to will not accept any returns on refund on the game after 5 days, or so I've been told.

Again, help will be much appreciated. Anything on this problem will be helpful.

Google be your friend: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090412210301AAwQJ01. Apparently if you are on Vista it can't find DX9.0c.

Try this link:

Goto near the bottom. The last 3 posts. Try installing like he suggests.
And update it like he suggests.

Let us know if that works.

Ok...now its not recognizing the CD Key -_-
What the hell...did I piss off the PC Gaming Gods or something?

EDIT: Finally got it to accept the CD Key but I'm still running into the same problem (ERROR_DX_somthing or other) even after following the advice from the link you presented.

I'm probably gonna take it back and tell the BX folks that I want my money back. No point in keeping a game I can't play. Or, if some free cash falls into my lap I'll hand it over to the guys at Best Buy for them to give it a try.

Who knows? Maybe they'll have better luck.

Anyways, thanks for the advice and help folks. If their isn't any more option, etc. left then I'm guessing this thread should be shut down by a Mod. I don't want to clutter the forum.

Thanks again.
