Neverwinter Nights Monk tips?

Whenever I decide to finally play through Neverwinter Nights, in honor of my very first D&D character, I'm thinking of playing a monk. That said, NWN is based off 3e, and I got started with 5e. That's on top of monks being not exactly the actually decent class it is in 5e.

For anyone with knowledge on playing a 3e monk, any tips on how to make a NWN monk character that's at least semi-decent?

That's a losing fight champ :D

I will move this to Gaming Industry

Unfortunately I know diddly about this (When I play D&D, I half know what I'm doing and half make it all up as I go along).

Warning: the following information is based on 10+ year old memories.

You want at least 12 con and str, the rest can go in to dex + wisdom. Dex is by far your most important stat (you want weapon finesse asap). Some would say starting with 10 str is also fine if you cant afford those two points (you can buff it later with potions of buls strength by 2-5 points). Cha is 100% pointless for you. Int gets you skill points if you're really after them.
Get armour bonuses from dex bonuses, bracers of armour, rings of protection and amulets of natural armour.
It used to be they could take shield proficiency feat andstack shields for crazy AC, I think that will have been patched out though.
Stay away from circle kick, its a trap.

Raddra is on the right track, but I'd say 13 str so that you can get Power Attack and Cleave. Don't bother with whatever weapons you can use and just roll with punching people in the face. Power Attack is a must get, Cleave is also nice if you can afford it. Make sure to get Weapon Focus (Unarmed) and consider getting 4 levels in fighter just to get Weapon Specialization (Unarmed) for the added lulz.

The big question is, are you playing vanilla NWN or are you doing Shadows of Undrentide/Hordes of the Underdark?

Well, I got the Diamond Edition off GoG, so vanilla, then moving to the expansions. I also plan on playing other official modules not included with the Diamond Edition, as well as A Dance with Rogues (though I'll use a different character for that, just because that was built with rogues in mind).

Also, I'm surprised that these strength requirements are so low. Aren't 3e Monks plagued with a massive case of multi-stat?, didn't they need high values in everything to be viable? (seems more in line with 5e from what I've gathered).

Well, NWN sort of 'fixes' the damage on monks (a little) by giving them magic gloves that give damage bonuses. But the problem with those are they take the hand slow, which competes with bracers of armour and bracers of dexterity (go figure). I think NWN has a strength belt. So its up to you if you want that damage, accuracy+ac (dex) or straight AC (armour).

SO they're not only M.A.D but also multiple slot dependant. Its not all lost though. I remember smome monks in NWN being pretty godly.

4 fighter levels is also very good advice. 4 fighter, rest monk. Would net you weapon finesse at level 1 and weapon focus + specialisation in unarmed strikes plus toughness at level 2.

Keep tumble maximised: it is the only skill that confers passive bonuses (every 5-10 points (i forget) provide +1 to AC)

Do Monks have nothing after Quivering Palm at 15? (other than an ASI).
