Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

What do you think, I believe that the demo is unimpressive but I'll reserve judgement. It is after all a pre-alpha build.

Plus it's good to know that they're finally making another 40k action game.

If you're gonna make a Warhammer 40k based action game, why not make it a third person shooter? Why make this bastardization of a fighting game that seems to play like an elephant with a butterknife.

And stop calling them Cinemaction moments! They're Fatalities! They've been called fatalities since we saw em in mortal kombat!

45 seconds in and I'm already annoyed at the guy talking. A bit of confidence and less "umming" and "ahing" would reassure me that these people aren't all functionally retarded and will mess up the game.

Can't say I'm too impressed by the video. Was fairly average tbh. As Kreacher said, a third person shooter would have been better imho. As it looks at the moment, even with it being just a first build, I wouldn't be buying it.

I didn't like it the combat simply wasn't brutal enough, stunning and then performing finishing moves is too arcadey.
The intro movies for Dawn of war 1+2 are brilliant in their depiction of 40K combat although they too make the mistake of making the bolter sound like normal weapons instead of a weapon decribed as one useful for shock troops due in part to it making loud thunderous claps while firing its .75 calibre self propeled mini rockets that fragment after penetrating the target.

Seems the "equeal" chaos marine is a little less than what the Imp is to zombies in Doom 3.
