Halo Reach is $7 used at Gamestop. Might be worth picking up. My 360 died while I was in the middle of playing it so I sold it. Now I could finish (but will have to replay the first 2/3.

I don't remember even seeing Kane and Lynch 2 on xbox's feedback page. I hope that Portal: Still Alive becoming backwards compatible is a sign that The Orange Box will be too at some point.

Why they didn't just put the entire 360 library on the Store is beyond me.
Because they have to actually write code to make them compatible with the emulator they built on the XBO which actually takes time and dev resources.

They may also be a licensing issue but that wouldn't explain how companies like Sony were able to do it with the original PS3s.
original PS3's had a PS2 drive built in that's why they were able to do what they did. MS is doing a more digital emulator approach which is cheaper and better as they can fix problems faster.
That's what I said with my first sentence.

I was just pointing out that there is a possibility of a licensing issue arising since the 360 games were licensed on 360 consoles but was postulating that if that was the case then the PS3 doing it would have presented that problem and didn't.
but they arnt doing the same thing. MS is having you DL a digital copy of the game not actually playing it from the disc, were as the PS3 literally had a PS2 inside it. As such they didn't need to relicense the game because they were using the original code on the disc.
Oh, that's an excellent point. It's as if they had just released a new version of the PS2 so there is no licensing dispute and only PS3's with the PS2 hardware in them were capable of playing them.

I mean, I don't know that licensing is an issue here, but I wouldn't be awfully shocked if it isn't. That combined with having to create emulator compatibility for each title could easily explain why it's taking so long to build up a decent list. They're still under 20 popular titles all told. That's not much considering they're over 100 titles.

That would make this less like backwards compatibility and more like why Sony took so long to get good PS classics on their PSN storefront.

Orange box hype! but really can't say TF2 will be worth playing on a console again, even if it does hold a special place in my heart

This'd be great if Live wasn't having service issues at the moment. Specifically with purchase and usage content.
Still, my mate will be happy Reach is there. I hope.
EDIT - I quoted the wrong post when I originally submitted this response. Score one for ADHD! >.< The correct post is now quoted.

That's because, the night you posted the above response, a new batch of script kiddies took XBL down. I forget what they call themselves, but they say they're going to shut down XBL and PSN on Christmas day and for weeks afterward. They did an early strike on XBL because they said that Xbox owners talked shit about them and needed to be taught a lesson.

OT - FUCKING LAME!!!

At the end of November, the list was a lot smaller, but included all of the BioShock games and Skate 3. Even though I fucking despise the latter, I DO own it, and backwards compatibility would have given me at least a flea's testicle hair of a reason to try getting somewhere in the game. On top of that, I own BioShock Infinite and its DLC, but haven't played it yet.

This final list? It sucks more than a Dyson vacuum cleaner getting sucked into a whirlpool getting sucked into a black hole at the center of Rush Limbaugh's greasy, racist-pig navel. A bunch of rinky-dink arcade crap. The only games I have on it are the amazing Portal (which I've already beaten a million times over) and Fable 3, the steaming pile of dog turd that may still not end up being the worst game in the series given the puke that's being released under the Fable name.

I give up...
