Okay, so I was listening to the news on the radio, and a snippet I caught boiled down to this: Supposedly, the US government wants to increase the percentage of ethenol in gasoline from what it is now(about 10%) up to about 12% or possibly more. As soon as that came out, GM and Ford as well as a lot of small engine companies stood up and denouced it saying that if the government did that, it would screw with their business since many engines wouldn't be able to burn the mixture.
I'm not sure how much of this is true or not, but with the way the government is headed, I have a tendancy to believe it. Especially since if it is true, my '92 van is probably going to be one of the vehicles that won't work. SO...
I'm looking at my new car, and though most of my choice will be decided by how much I have at the time, cost aside, what do you think is the better deal? Should I go diesel or gasoline? Manual or Automatic(I've never driven stick before, but I can learn, I think). I'm not a car person, so I'm looking for some more knowledgable opinions.
