The trailer, is what I was referring to.
To the extent that I read the article, watched the trailer, then read the article 2 more times to see if I had simply glazed over the word MOBA.
Sure, nothing they're saying says MOBA, but that trailer looks like a MOBA. And thats probably why people are commenting such.
Though falling victim to you own accusations, the comments saying MOBA havent referenced Duke Nukem or Aliens CM at all. So you're right, at least one of us isnt reading.
If you're going to reply to me, please quote me.
And how does it look like a MOBA? I'm failing to spot this. Is it because there is a mixture of melee and ranged?
You may want to double check Mr.K's post.
One person =/= everyone just complaining about DN/A:CM.
It looks like a MOBA. Handful of characters with styles that dont look like they come from the same universe/setting, running and fighting from hordes of trashy mobs, while displaying combat which doesnt actually look involved(Yes yes, MOBA combat is involved from a technical standpoint, but I mean their general handling and animations arent hands on, they're click once for a result, and generally the animation which plays out is indicative of that).
Given, that doesnt mean it is a MOBA, it could just be an awful trailer. But we're talking about why people are responding this way, which is to say it looks like a MOBA. Plus the latest pushing trend IS fps MOBAs. Studios are trying to push them more, to bring something fresh to the concept of MOBA. (Which is odd, because we already had things like Monday Night Combat, but I guess it only counts as adding something fresh to the concept if a big studio does it?)
So, I will revise my comment to this:
This looks like a MOBA, or a really bloody terrible trailer.
