So it's like a PC Console?
Think you might have nailed it on the head. Now if it included the ROM for Basic, too, the dream would be complete.

ready.
run!

-respects to Graham and Paul and Co., but also respects to me. The C64 was my candy growing up.

Damn, I never even had a C64 (I was too busy not existing in 1982) but somehow I feel the desire to get one of these new units.

Great, now I can say that my PC is less powerful than a C64.
Why can't I win the lottery just once?

Oh wow. The Commodore 64 was before my time, but by the gods that is so gloriously retro that it's actually beautiful.

It is a normal PC. Just stuffed in a replica chassis of the good ol' C64.
>_< I'm over-excited. the thing I like is the fact it has all this wondeful stuff built in with a gaming mindset intact.

My dad and my godfather still long for the C64 days and even told me stories of how awesome it was, although I never used one of those (my heart will always belong to the Commodore Amiga), I'm planning on buying one of these for my dad =).
My heart belongs to the Commodore Amiga aswell. My friends had C64's though, but when I finally managed to get some serious money together, the Amiga 500 was the future and the logical choice :p

OT: But yeah, that's pretty darn cool.

i had a c64 with the 5 something floppy and a 128d with the built in floppy, god takes me back some great games, gunship, pirates, karateka, flight simulator, zak mcracken, test drive, zork, on and on.

and heck printshop for all your school needs and a dot matrix printer so you could print out your 10 page school report in 10 minutes, when the feed did not crap out and trashed the report.

Problem with the Amiga was that loads of the games were just trashy ST ports that forgot the blitter/raster, or even worse, 64 ports like Wizball that crashed out because there was no SID/AGNUS to support them.

Although the Amiga did have Wicked, and the Shadow of the Beast games.

What would make me laugh is the Commodore Vic-PC20 with modern innards. I betcha my old one is in a closet somewhere at the folks house. Now THAT I think I might get. Besides the color is better looking.
You mean this one?

Look closely at who's endorsing it.

Wait, what? Looking at those specs, that's not a very good processor or GPU, but massive amounts of RAM and HD space.

Wow... Hardware components will be kind of a overkill to the games it will play... I mean... 1TB HDD... JUST FOR C64 GAMES?!?!?!?!!?

OK I am as nostalgic for the C64 as the next person. (Oh lord, the memories) but what IS the point of this?

From what I'm getting out of the article the machine is a modern PC with modern capabilities, just in an old fashioned chassis. So it's a basic modern PC with a retro casing? I'm failing to see the point of this besides a conversation piece.

Oh sweet!

I didn't have a C64 as a kid but two of my mates did and I love the music / sound - very unique!

I'd have one of these if I was in the market for a new PC!

Thanks for filling that in, I was definitely referencing the Seuss. :)
