I think you are spurgeing a little. you dont really need a SSD (They have a shorter life span) or the GTX 470, why dont you get a bit older one and save yourself $400-$500. Also i see your getting a ssd and hdd that are 6gb/s i would assume the SSD is for your os and the hdd for data, Why do you need that fast of data tranfer times? Also does the motherboard have Sata III (6gbs) combatability? according to http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188059 it has only SATA 3Gb/s but then again i wouldn't trust the distributer website, go to EVGA and look it up. Also do you really need a MB with 7 PCI slots?

Also what is the purpose of this rig? gaming?

Its more or less for gaming, yes. But I'm also attempting to somewhat future proof the rig. Yes, the SSD is for the operating system as well as possibly a few applications. Although they do have a shorter life span, the warranty protects me for at least 3 years and by that time I'm sure I'll be upgrading to another SSD. I'm using the GTX 470 mostly because I can, not out of necessity, but it also plays nice with my motherboard which is good.
