New Contest for ZP badge

I really enjoy Yahtzee's rants.. they're what brought me here to The Escapist. I also got the badge. That being said, I dont consider myself a fanboy. I found it fun to just to see how I did in getting the episodes listed.

I got the badge.. but I doubt it'll be on my top 4. =P

Well, after getting all 26 episodes (a good 20 of them with the only help needed being what particular formatting the quiz wanted the title in), I got the badge. Still, afterwards having reflected on the nature of the competition and the ending to one of the Zero Punctuation videos, I wouldn't have been at all surprised to find I had been awarded the "Miserable Fanboy Twat" badge. I would have worn it proudly.

So the escapist is having a contest for this week's Zero Punctuation. Believe you me, I know for a fact these are not the Yahtzee forums. (It's always fun to see the first 5-6 commentators on his videos insta-banned). The contest in question is to name what video each clip is from (as the video this week was a clip show (yes I know they apoligized, it's all good)).

In my opinion, this sort of thing, while fun as always, kind of instigates a horrid collaboration of ZP fanboys and Badge-whores. I just pray they don't decide to procreate.

Your thoughts? Do you think it's a bad idea? Do you like it? Or are you a proud Yahtzee fanboy and you're glad you can show it in a different way than screaming 'FISRT!!'?

If I had badges turned on in forum options instead of being unable to see them outside of profile pages, this badge would be a pretty good way to see which posters I can just ignore.

This is rather close-minded, Nate. Take it easy. I, for one, would probably pick up this badge if I felt like I could do it without researching, if only for the fun of taking a quiz like that. The badge, much like a lot of things, is just icing. We should talk about this in PMs. Try not to be so antagonistic, Nate.

For all you know those "badge whores" that got the Zero Punctuation mash-up badge did it for the giggles. Because reliving some of those moments and filling out the quiz was actual nostalgic and fun. You know that word fun? That word people used widely before every little action having some kind of devious, nefarious background?

While I agree, you don't really need to be so hostile... At all.

Frankly, I don't think this is the place, and most certainly not the time, for this. I'd say you both take it easy, and let this be a non-issue.

Well, luckily from what I've seen, a lot of the ZP-tards are afraid of us. I actually quoted one of them once and got a PM asking if he had done something wrong. It was priceless.

Maybe you could pay someone to help you with it. I'm sure there are some people in the world that hire themselves out to other people to help with their problems. The name escapes me at the moment though...

EDIT: As for number 15, I wouldn't worry about it. Not getting a badge isn't the end of the world.

Maybe I should stop giving hints... this is getting dangerous.

I enjoyed the spin. I assume Yahtzee couldn't be bothered because it's Christmas and someone else put it together. Quizzes are fun.

There seems to be some general annoyance with ZP. I don't understand the problem with liking something good.
He's got some good opinions which he presents in an entertaining way. I don't rush to watch it every week but I do watch it every week.
What's the deal?

I don't visit the ZP threads. It seemed to be a lot of, "That was hilarious" "Brilliant again". Pointless.

Of course, his popularity brings people to the site. For good or bad.
