Also, there was a ign interview/preview that said that there is only matchmaking, which worrys me.
In the terms of ps3 vs PC players, i fear that ps3 player will get owned.

Actually, Valve invited a load of professional CS players and other such types over to play it, and they were definitely pleased with it from what I've heard. And if they're not "purists", I don't know who would be.

Didn't hear about that. Interesting. I wonder how the cross-platform play will turn out though. *ponders situation*

no I'm not interested, I used to love counter-strike back when I was in 6th grade However I'd like to think my taste for games has changed since then (for better or for worse)

It's not that I'm saying the game is going to be terrible (it will probably live up to expectations) I'm just saying that counter-strike was great a decade ago but why would I want to play it again now?

It like that they're sticking to the same formula that has worked, just adding some stuff and upping the graphics. Although the Molotov looks a bit OP'd from what I've seen. Maybe there was multiple thrown but it seemed to spread waaay too much. Game isn't out yet so I can't really judge that, though.

I'm not sure, I can't find any real details about the cross-platform aspect. I would hope they just mean xbox-ps3 to be honest...If they have to "dumb down" the experience because of console vs PC, a lot of people will be disappointed.

I think when they say cross platform play they mean if you buy it for one platform you can play on all the others. I don't think they mean actual play between the platforms but I could be wrong.

OT I've never played CS, but this looks cool. I'm big on cross-platform, lets hope this work.

Release HL2:E3 NOW, it's been 4 years, in that time you've made two Portals, two L4D's, TF2, Alien Swarm, DOTA 2 and now by the looks of things you're on your way to finishing another Counter Stike. While they are indeed nice, i've been waiting too damn long for HL to finish, i need closure damn it!

If i don't get Episode 3 in the first half of 2012, i will beat Gabe Newell until it causes Hydrogen fusion.

I definitely do not want a rushed half life, but Valve has proven time and again that they can make AAA games in relatively short amounts of time. Their problem is, they're focusing on all their co-op and multiplayer games, so people can talk their friends into getting them too, rather than the best singleplayer series in history

I would hardly call them "purists". The regular players have the final say, not glorified geekness... I mean cyber-athletes...

Looks good. I'll probably get it for pc though cross-platform play sounds like a bad idea. Well that is it's bad for the console players.

Valid point, but Multiplayer games are easier to make that Singleplayer. Singleplayer games need writing, scripting, more voice acting e.t.c. Rush one of those points, and the whole game loses quality.
