First of this is my first post so please tell me if I'm in the wrong place.
I am thinking of starting a 4e D&D campaign based in a cyberpunk world were people have some form of magic through genetic mods (like biotics in mass effect) and a large section of the population has turned to swashbuckling in large flying ships. My real question is what races and classes should I allow to keep it in the correct setting, I was thinking basically any non-primal class. I have access to all the books and content so go wild!

I'm thinking a human swordmage that is a guy that uses a sword and shoots lasers out of his hands, a revenant assassin that is an assassin that uses mods to effect peoples minds, warforged warlock that is a robot with lasers and stuff, and some kind of artificer.

I havent played 4e yet so not sure what you mean by primal classes, but if your going to allow magic, due to genetic mods, then you could keep any player race. Just say their either a mutant or scientific experiment. If fact that could lead to some interesting story hooks.

Thank you I've taken that into account and I think we have determined the player characters and I had an uber brain storm with my notebook and have some basic plot.
