New Dead Space Film Coming in January

Dead Space Aftermath [http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Space-2-Aftermath-Blu-ray/dp/B0047S4UPW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1292370588&sr=8-1], a new animated film explaining the fate of the first-responder mission to rescue the USG Ishimura, is coming early next year.

Set in the year 2509, Dead Space Aftermath will tell the horrifying tale of the survivors of the USG O'Bannon, the first ship sent to rescue the USG Ishimura after it lost contact with Earth. Now the O'Bannon has gone dark too, and only four crew members are left alive. What happened to everyone else, and what dark secrets do their fates conceal?

The film will feature several "internationally renowned animation directors," along with the voice talents of Dead Space: Downfall [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0431895/] producer Joe Goyette and supervising director Mike Disa are back in the saddle for the new film.

Dead Space Aftermath will be released on January 25, 2011, in DVD and Blu-ray format, with a "pre-book" coming out on December 29. Gamers who like chopping up Necromorphs but aren't over-the-top rabid fans of the franchise may prefer to buy Syfy [http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Space-2-Collectors-Pc/dp/B0047O7XUK/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1292370967&sr=1-5]. It probably won't take long.

I've never played Dead Space or seen the other film, but I want to see this for two reasons:

1. Christopher Judge is cool

2. That picture to the right is plain creepy

Hopefully it's better than the first one. Oh boy was that movie a boring dud. The shame is that this is an interesting universe, but the extracurricular fiction seems to be more interested only in the basest elements.

Really hope its better than the first. Only reason to watch that was for whatever gore there was.

Well at least it was better than most video game movie out there... and was faithful to the game
I probably will take a look

Ah damn not another one...

I love Dead Space, but film adaptations of games just suck.

Hopefully this one doesn't become too well known, so it doesn't ruin the games good name...much.

Judging for the posts, a lot of people didn't liked the Downfall movie. Well, I DID liked it, mostly because it reminded me alot of the Aliens movie but with a lot of gore and great animation.

I'm not pretty excited for Dead Space 2, as I still think that with the last one I had enough. I may give this movie a rental if it has the same quality of the last one and that's not a bad thing.

But dont we already know whats happened and going to happen...

"Hello is anyone alive? Hellooooooo GGGGUUUURRRRGGGGAAAAHHHH!!!!!!"
"You alright Jim? GGGGAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!"
"We lost Tim and Jim, hello, HELLO, why is no one answering, OH WHY IS NO ONE ANSWERING!? GGGGUUUUAAAAGGGGLLLLEEEE!!!!"
"What are these things? Oh my God theirAAAGGGGRRRRLLLLEEEEGGGG"
"Looks like its just you and meAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!"
Then Issac kicks a baby.

Seriously though, the poster looks bitching I just hope they experiment with the art style, maybe give the actual movie the same sort of retro, 80's look, that would be interesting.

That's probably dead on.

OT: I will admit that I unabashedly enjoyed Downfall, it certainly wasn't the *best* thing in the world but it wasn't *bad* either. Then again, I'm a sucker for bio-horror, so maybe that's it.

Really, it could go either way. It all depends on whether the feeling of isolation, of being one person against an unstoppable evil (except for one glowing weak point at the center of the ship, of course. This is a videogame-based movie). If they can harness that tension then it could be fantastic.

Chances of that actually happening?...I wouldn't bet on it.

Yes, yes, YESSSSS!!! I loved the first movie and game; they're like Resident Evil, but in space!! In the first movie, if you take the action scenes and watch them while playing Death Metal, they're totally epic.

That picture just looks damn awesome but is this even wanted? By anyone? I was surprised when it said 'New'; I thought it mean live-action.

It'd turn into an Aliens...
