new deathmetal?

being a fan of older deathmetal bands...I was wondering what folks thought of some of the newer deathmetal? bands (suicide silence, winds of plague, white chapel, ect.) some my call it harcore or metalcore...thoughts?

Deathmetal? first of all that's a very stupid name (in my opinion) for a genre of music, and secondly i personally don't like deathmetal or even regular metal, especially these newer bands.

Well I've never really been into Deathmetal but recently have been getting into more music that I have never been bothered about before, Notably Machine Head, Hatebreed and Atreyu. But my girlfriend is really into Deathmetal so I might check these new bands out, any old style once you recommend?

A lot o new 'core bands think that basic crunching riffs and distorted vocals is all there is to death metal. The good death metal bands are the ones that incorporate good musicianship along with a heaping helping of brutality.

obituary,carcass, morbid angel. hatebreed has to be one of the better hardcore bands to come out in the past 12 years or so...seen them 10 times...good show!

thats great!...a real fan! my band has opened for both arsis and necrophagist ...never got to see vehemence..i hear they got back together and are playing shows...
