Still can't say I like this, although it is looking a wee bit better. Dante's redesign still doesn't sit well with me, so that's always going to be a problem. His voice actor doesn't sound as into it as his predecessor was, either. His sidekick/probable-love-interest/spunky female action character/whatever also falls into the "slightly bland" hole at the minute as well, although all I know of her is in this video.

However, the city's design and switch into Limbo was quite impressive, and the soundtrack still sounds pretty good, if not as great as say, 3's. The combat is looking alright, I guess. It doesn't seem to look quite as quirky as some of the other games, specifically in the weapon department, but it looks visceral enough. I'm a bit worried about some of the sequences in that video though; it looks as if they could have been QTEs in there, especially when he pulled the camera out but the lack of on-screen prompts or showing of controls leaves that uncertain. The combat also looks kind of slow and clunky, with little variety in the moves.

I do hope this game lives up to others in the series, I really do. The Devil May Cry series has always been fun, and I hope Ninja Theory can manage to make a good game that fits into this series. Colour me hopeful, but still oh so worried.

Well I saw it and it looks to me that even though it's smoothed out (obviously still in development) it looks really easy. They make it simulate 60 fps because of the lack of action on the screen. The enemies were barely attacking, not to mention that there's only 3-4 enemies on the screen at the time. The only one moving a lot was Dante. I had to fight more enemies than that at the beginning of DMC3, and enemies was coming at you left and right on that game. I'm still not impressed yet. Also the whole "Parallel Universe" thing, after calling the game a reboot/remake/rebirth, saying how this game will show how Dante becomes the way he is now, just to say that the game is not even cannon, just feels like a scapegoat to put this game under the "Devil May Cry" name. This really gives me no reason to get this game if it has, literally, Nothing to do with the cannon story. Also the fact that Capcom bans people on their page just for asking questions about the game, not even hateful questions, just questions.

It still looks clunkier than DMC 3 and 4. However, it does look like it'll be fairly decent, not as an entry in the Devil May Cry series but as a stand-alone title.

Still, they can still convince me it's worth buying new if they release a demo that impresses me. Until then, I'm going to be pretty leery of everything they show.

I'm already sold on this game. It looks really good. At first I was against the new Dante too but I'm okay with it now. And I really like the animation in this game. The only DMC game I've put any serious time in to was 4 but I always thought Dante's movements looked pretty awkward and jerky compared to Nero's more flowing and fluid fighting style in that game. That's one of the reasons I actually preferred playing as him. In this game Dante's moves look a lot more visually pleasing to me than before. Although the frame rate is something that is a niggling doubt I have about the game so far it looks great.

Also has anyone noticed that Dante has a Union Flag on his coat sleeve now? I like how they put that in, seeing how Ninja Theory is a UK studio.
