Previous Games. There are two PS2 games, released internationally as Global Defence Force and Global Defence Force: Tactics. The Xbox one was actually EDF3.

Actually, I was on about Monster Attack, which apparently also had a second game.
Could be yet more, or just another case of games with different names.

Ahh, just double checked. Monster Attack was EDF1. Global Defence Force was EDF2. They may only have been released in Europe though. No giant ant soup for Americans, it seems.

GDF Tactics is some kind of turn based strategy version of GDF.

This was a retail title. Should be able to find it really cheap.

However, I can tell you that it had a different name, but was exactly the same (Minus mech suits).
Damn, it was interesting to outrun the Turtle missiles...
Edit: Put it into my original post. A wonder what a little google/wikipedia search can do.

Turtle missiles where fine and all but those bombs could seriously mess you up even worse. So many good and insane weapons in that game even if they did all use the same model. Never managed to get my hands on the genocide gun though...

Oh god. This is one of my favorite games of all time.
It was so random a tthe time i saw it and i said, "i have to purchase this game."
Now i may or may not have been stoned at the time ((im not allowed to incriminate myself, nor admit any information pretaining to national security)) but this game blew my mind. Hard.

Let me put it this way. I rate Halo: Reach 6.5/10.
I rate this game 9.5/10.
This is a must buy.
