Update: this is NOT a Fallout teaser, as Bethesda claims to not have anything to do with it
See the update at the bottom: http://www.movieviral.com/2010/04/05/gknova6-viral-site-for-unknown-game/

So if you've been checking gaming sites you may have heard that USB drives have been received at gamintg outlets. On the USB sticks appears to be codes and all sorts of interesting stuff. I guess it's all meant to be solved by the community.

Most of the info is here http://ps3.ign.com/articles/108/1081856p1.html

Also, be sure to check this out http://www.gknova6.com/ it shows an intersting little video and repeats some code. Clearly has to do with nuclear technology.

So, anyone interested in cracking the code?

Code 1 (Word document):
00000000 00000210 00000825 000000000037474B 00000000 0016FDA0 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000TCON

Code 2 (read in an audio file):
MOD ZZZ JNQRYD3FRP

Code 3 (Word document):
Cryptography

Isotope

Philanthropy

Hydrogen

Ember

Rebirth

Which obviously the first letters spell CIPHER.

What's the secret? What's this for?

I'm wondering if that first code is just hexadecimal or some other computer language.

EDIT: I read more about it, apparently the Code 2 up above, if you shift the letters over 3 it becomes the gknova6 website. I definitely suggest you check out http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/05/arg-we-cant-believe-we-wasted-time-on-that/ for more info

This looks very intriguing.

Also I like how the stamp is a parallel to the original Richard Wright in New Reno from Fallout 2.

This all seems very strange, don't tell me other companies have jumped on the portl bandwagon of having confusing, tricky riddles to a potential announcement.

It's definitely Fallout related, you can turn the knob on the screen in that video. It shows plans for the Vaults.

Hm.. the television is showing the numbers and letters U-238 and U-235, If i remember correctly those are two isotopes of uranium. Or the radioactive material used in nukes. Probably fallout then.

Oh. I was under the impression that this was from bethesda because of the title.

It'd be funny if all this nuclear hints turned out to be the elder scrolls 5 announcement. No one would see that coming

The postal address says it's from Maryland.

Chances are, it's Bethesda.

So does that mean its not a Fallout Nv teaser? Would the letter not come from obsidian?

Either way I doubt its fallout 4 unless besthesda have been sneaky and just pretending they havent started it yet. But I doubt it

Bethesda still owns the rights to Fallout, so they would be publishing New Vegas. They'd most likely be in charge of the marketing campaign.

Besides the whole CoD 7 reference the blinking light makes, it shows many photos of the JFK administration, which was heavily embroiled in the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Cold War. CoD 7 is supposed to be based around the Cold War, and the Missile Crisis as an extension, I would assume. The splitting of the atom, possibly leading to a reference about nuclear missiles, as supposed by the picture of the missile.

For further riddle and puzzle solving tips, I went to this site. The audio kept making reference "Hell Is Purple." Well, there is a riddle/puzzle site called Purple Hell. Check it out.

I don't know. I'm homing for a Fallout result, myself. The animations seem to be on par with the cartooney Pip-Boy, and the flickering of the screen makes me think of the Pip-Boy screen. Big fan, here. *crosses fingers*
Same. But right now I think the best thing to do is to wait with antisipation for next week and surround the meaning with tons of baseless speculation and attention...just to be safe.

I would be happy with that as well.
