So I got myself a pair of new glasses a few days ago and I have to say Im outright amazed at the difference its making.

Let me tell you the story; All my life Ive been perfectly content with my vision. I can read books, watch TV, read labels on stuff and play computergames with no problem - more or less - but stuffs always been a bit foggy on a distance. But that didnt matter and I was perfectly fine going along as I always did.
But then when I was going to take my drivers lisence I needed my eyes checked and while they were technicaly good enough for me to be allowed to drive without glasses they strongly recomended me to get a pair, which I obviously did.

I just got them a few days ago now and the first time I wore them outside the shop I was just stunned, everything was so clear and sharp! Here I had gone through my whole life being perfectly happy with my vision not realizing what I was missing! I even stood and watched a painting for a solid minuet just appreshiating the details that came into full view now. Its scary thinking that something youre content with might be improved in such a drastic measure but none the less amazing to experience!

So, anyone else had something similar occur? Something you were completly content with that got improved in some way and now you question how you ever got along before it? Share your stories!

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I was little and got my first pair of glasses. It was amazing. Everything was so clear and non-fuzzy! So I totally understand where you're coming from. I remember going out into the parking lot and just staring out at the trees in the distance, because I never knew that they looked like that.

Nowadays, with my -5.50 vision in one eye, and -4.75 in the other, I wouldn't be able to see much of anything without my contacts.

I just know I look better with them and my eyes have plateaued at bad but not too terrible, and transition lenses are awesome. Take that sunglasses!

If your glassess become like your old pair, meaning hard to see while using, you might have a brain tumour, seriously I heard this happened. If this reoccurs you might have a problem.

Yes other people who have their sight impaired are more easily depresssed, like colour blind people. And yes colour blind people become depressed more frequently than non-colour blind people. And too I am aware there are millions of other factors that can cause depression. And no I am not projecting

Same as you bro. I never really gave a damn about my vision but after I got my glasses, "I can see clearly now the rain is gone". Only problem I have is that they always get smuged.

I love my glasses. Well it'd be nicer to be able to see without but, they're pretty cool. Thing a lot of people don't realise is that no one has naturally perfect vision, it's always going to be slightly off. With glasses and contacts however, you get correction to as close to perfect as you can get. It's practically a superpower!
