A first-person shooter designed specifically for the Wii? Oh boy! That never goes comepletly wrong! [http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/theconduit/review.html]

Maybe it won't suck because it has such solid source material, but I remain skeptical.

I said it last time this was mentioned and I'll say it again. There's a fully implemented and complete Source mod called Goldeneye: Source for the PC, and it's free. So this doesn't really bother me at all.

Not complete, says beta.
Is this source on Steam, by any chance? I want it either way, but Steam would be really convenient :/

This.

You can easily play the new Goldeneye on other consoles, it just goes under the name Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. No, I am not joking. Anyone who got their hands on Goldeneye at PAX will tell you that it plays exactly the same way sans kill streaks and perks.

Except it is continuing the idea of insane variables to the gametypes. I don't recall a gametype in Modern Warfare where players explode when they run into each other

It's funny how so many people were complaining "why doesn't the Wii have more hardcore titles?!". But now that a hardcore title is coming, they are now complaining "why isn't this being released for the 360/PS3?!". Plus, I fail to see how releasing it on the 360/PS3 would make it any less of a "cash-in", since that would have been the purpose of such a title no matter what platform it was released for.

Ugh...more people throwing around the "hardcore" term. Being a shooter doesn't make a game hardcore- not by a long shot. And being that definition of hardcore doesn't mean it's going to be a good game, or even a not terrible game. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that, on average, games that are labeled "hardcore" for having blood, guns, violence, etc. are worse than games that are labeled "casual" for things like color and upbeat music. If you think hardcore games are realistic war, racing, and sports simulations, than I sure as hell don't want to be hardcore.
What makes a game hardcore is high overall difficulty and a complex control scheme- nothing more. That being said, I consider myself to be an extremely hardcore gamer.
OT- Wasn't planning on getting this game. I never owned the original and didn't find it to be all that amazing with my experiences at friends' houses. I also predicted it would dissapoint a shitload of people upon release.
"Activision and developer Eurocom had invested a lot of time and energy making a great shooter for the Wii"- This is slightly reassuring. If the controls are as solid as they can be (should be better than MP3) than this could be the new definitive FPS for Wii.

Yes it is. I got the mod from Fileplanet when I had it, I'd just Google it for a new version.
