I was told about a new halo game that was coming out. Looked around and found this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWKjXkJVRWk

Was also told about many new changes, such as having no shields.
Any thoughts?

P.S. Sorry didn't know it had been know about for a long time or that it was an expansion, just leave your thoughts please.

This isn't really new, we've known about this for a while.

That said I don't really know how I feel about this, I mean it's set during the timeline of Halo 3 so at least that means the elites are still the good guys.... but still for now despite being a Halo fan to the core I just don't know.

It stole my heart as a trilogy.

Hey, The new Game looks to be based entirely around the ODST incursion, and has been stated to be more of a splinter cell-esq game as you wont have shields, wont be as tough, and your only ally for alot of it will be those controlling the city. (Possibly City AI as seen in ship mainframes)

Cant wait for it to come out tho, will hopefully take us further into the depths of the universe!

By that trailer it looks pretty average so far. Haven't looked into the game much though not really being a fan. I think taking away the shields would give the game a better challenge but might disorientate the Halo players who have been used too having the shields.
Overall I doubt I'll be picking it up but this is coming from someone who isn't really a fan.

Not a "new game". Microsoft officially said that they would not be making more Halo games after Halo 3, with the exception of Halo Wars, which has already been released. This is an expansion. Very different thing.

Looking forward to it, I like the idea of searching for the other ODSTs and then playing out what happened to them when you find them, should be a nice change of pace from playing as master chief.

I wonder, has anyone who starts these "A NEW HALO" or "HALO 4!" Threads even beat the game Halo 3?

I think it is pretty clear that the series is over. And yes, I have beaten the game on Legendary and seen that he escapes in a pod. I actually wish they hadn't put that little bit in. Now all i can do is assume that the pod didnt travel fast enough, and the lazer got him then. But instead of saying that, they left it free for freaks online to say" CHIEF IS ALIVE!" "CHIEF CAN SURVIVE ANYTHING" or my least favorite "HALO 4 IS COMING OUT IN 3 YEARS!"

Halo is over. Bungie studios has been dissolved. They made it pretty clear ODST is the last continuation. And even then, ODST is only an expansion pack. IT'S OVER!

I thought that was the whole point of the Arbiter in Halo 2.
True, but Arby is just as tough as master chief, so it didn't really affect the gameplay much, just the story.

It's not set during the timeline of Halo 3, it's set during the timeline of Halo 2 so it is unknown if we face elites.

I would say the Halo series is offically not going to see any other sequels until I saw the "Wake me if you need me." cut-scene at the end which seems like a door if needed.

Actucally, this is set in Halo 2's timeline. It takes place shortly after Regret's Assault Carrier left New Mombasa and destroyed the city, so there might be a few bad Elites, I dunno

When I saw that sequence I had this image of the President of Bungie opening the ice pod.

"Chief...we're broke. Our 50 million dollar sequel to Marathon collapsed. We're desperate. You're are only hope! We need...Halo 4."
