I would rather them make a crap game that ISN'T Mass Effect 3. If that is Mass Effect 3 then it looks like they are Haloing it up and who in fucks name wants that? We need fewer brainless gun-man games.Nfritzappa said:This would be cool, however, I still would rather have this be Mass Effect 3.
would only be worthwhile if you have th option of sacrificing Grandpappy Williams so Ashley will never be bornMatParker116 said:For those that know the ME universe Ashley Williams Grandfather fought a guerilla campaign to defend a colony from a Turian invasion during the first contact war. A game set during that would be eighteen kinds of awesome.
You're right. They probably could do alot of different genres within the ME universe. I just hope that what ever this is, its not delaying the production of ME3.OhJohnNo said:Sounds like it could be cool. And I can't help but laugh at all the fanboys who feel betrayed that Bioware isn't doing what they want them to do.
Mass Effect is a fleshed out enough universe that you could probably make it span across several genres (with the RPG trilogy remaining its core, of course). Why not a shooter? Hell, why not make an RTS set in the Mass Effect universe after this?
I'm glad Bioware is exploring their options.
After the massive disappointment that Mass Effect 2 was in my eyes....no, they don't get the benefit of the doubt..Art3rius said:Jesus, there hasn't even been any information yet. Just an announcement. Plus, it's Bioware, surely they've earned the benefit of the doubt?etherlance said:Great so now we get to deal with human Noob-tuber's and Turian quickscoping campers.......
......Yeah that sounds like so much fun.
Behold gentlemen.....The Raping of Mass effect will soon begin.
I enjoy both COD and ME games, and I'm sure that plenty of others do too, as both franchises have their own merits. Different qualities can appeal to the same audience, and I have complete faith in Bioware.Keepitclean said:If this doesn't go well itcouldwill be very very bad for the Mass Effect franchise. I thought Mass Effect was one of the best games ever made and I'm quite liking ME2. A black mark like this on a such a steller if short record would almost break my heart.
I will remain optimistic. Bioware is a great developer this game has the potential to help flesh out the intriguing Mass Effect universe.
I'd have to agree 100%. I don't mean to sound condescending here but Mass Effect is quite a bit more intelligent than CoD. Some people like that in a game, others don't. Trying to appeal to both camps is probably a waste of time. The ME fans will be annoyed that it is too shallow on the mythology (I couldn't think of a better word there) or the CoD fans will be bored with all the exposition.ProfessorLayton said:Exactly... chances are, the kind of people who play Call of Duty are not the kind of people who would like Mass Effect... and trying to have it appeal to people who don't care about the franchise to begin with sounds like the worst of both worlds. And please, guys, don't quote me saying how you're a fan of both games... I know that there are some exceptions.latenightapplepie said:I'm not against a multiplayer shooter set in the Mass Effect universe.
I am against comparing it to Call of Duty. Please let it be very different from that monstrosity.
I think the reason they compared this project to CoD was because CoD is the biggest FPS franchise out there at the moment.
Yay, another person with no understanding of quickscoping is. It is a rushing style, it cannot have camping.etherlance said:Great so now we get to deal with human Noob-tuber's and Turian quickscoping campers.......
