Why is her face obscured by shadow to only have it change to "normal"?

It looks like a simple transition effect to me, just a slightly different one to the other two characters.

ALso I notice, before the heroes do the Party attack and you can see show their faces with some artworks, doesn't look like the artist of those artworks is Hiroyuki Imaishi?

After months of watching the same countdown and a long, hard 30 hour livestream filled with dancing, J-pop, epic ruses, endless moon speak, 8888888888888888, delays, more dancing, and Teddie never shutting his trap, Atlus have finally released the new trailer for Persona 5 at the end of the Persona concert.

Arsene looks awesome, if not a bit overbearing. The screenshots and trailer that were released are confirmed to be from the PS3 version of the game, and if that's true, then HOT DAMN that's a good looking PS3 game!

So I decided to do a little research about the Thief Persona to guess which other popular fictional character make an appearance.

- One of my guess I have is a Persona with the name "Joséphine Balsamo". A female Thief who is also an antagonist of Arsene.
- Then we must expect a "Sherlock Holmes/Herlock Sholmes" Persona. Nanako cameo maybe with this Persona? :3

Naoto make sense, but why Chie? I don't see a connection with the "Thiefs Personas" Theme.

Naoto make sense, but why Chie? I don't see a connection with the "Thiefs Personas" Theme.

She wanted to be a cop by the end of P4

If I remember correctly Chie wants to start being a cop in Arena (which is pretty awesome) having her or Naoto cameo will be great, but yeah, someone having Irene Adler's as a companion's persona or Holmes persona for the antagonist (until the sure plot twist that it's caused by god/demon) is pretty obvious.

I wonder what are the party members persona are, maybe this time they'll go with famous literature rather than a certain religion.

Actually from the little I read, Holmes is more like as a rival of Lupin, not an antagonist. They worked together in some of the books.
Also Balsamo was a lover of Lupin, so maybe there it would be a twist in the story?

Also if we assume all your party members have Thiefs Personas, maybe we must look for historical Thiefs as well.
Plus we must see personas base the costume they wear.

Something new from one of the developers of the game. Taken from Kotaku:

"The main character's initial persona will be named Arsène. What relation this has to the French fictional character, Arsène Lupin, or the main character's alter ego as a thief, has yet to be revealed."

So...maybe actually it is like in Persona 4, which the heroes at some point fight their own Shadow versions.
But now in Persona 5 it seems the Hero use his Shadow-self to become the Thief.
I know this sound strange, but look at his eyes before he transform into Lupin:

SO maybe this is also the reason why you fight Demons and not Shadows anymore.
