Erm, no offence or anything, but I can't quite make sense of this:

If the Argonians are giant walking, talking lizards, then why are they walking around a blizzardous Nordic tundra? Lizards are all cold-blooded, and need sun to warm themselves up. Now, I can imagine cold-blooded talking lizards walking around the swamps of Morrowind, but how do they survive sub-zero temperatures in an arctic wilderness. As far as I'm aware, the North Pole isn't renowned for its reptilian fauna.
They aren't giant lizards, they are Argonians. A fictional race that has its own rules, they lay eggs and have breasts, they are hermaphrodites when they are born, their appearance varies on the amount of Hist that they take when they are young, meaning that they can look extremely lizard-like or almost human, they are tree people for God's sake, surviving in the cold is the least problem of their "realism".

Other than that they all look pretty damn cool.
They weren't cut from the game, the 20-something reviewers got to play Skyrim for an hour and these are the characters they made, which means that Altmer, Breton and Imperials weren't so interesting to them. There are more screenshots inbound, but no known ETA.

Updated the thread with the new Argonian screenshot (alas low-res PNG, but it's the only one currently available)

Now let us hope they have put more effort into the voice acting this time.
There are 70 different voice actors confirmed, you can find it in the link I provided in the first post.

Orc wasnt really impressive in my opinion... though thats more a personal opinion greatly influenced by the hair than anything else I think =p

All in all looks sweet!
I thought the hair made them look a bit.....douchy really. That one could be a Orc Male Model. Hopefully my one will look a bit tougher. The Argonians look the most awesome to me.

Why no Imperial or Bretton? :(

Oh, well, I was going to play a Dark elf anyway, and they look even cooler than they did in morrowind so, eeh.

way better than DAT faces, shitty Gamebryo spawned in oblivion+fallout BUT what i want to see what this engine can do if you put good effort in to creating a woman i'm tired of generic muscle-dudes #12030041421 well yeh they are indeed needed to be in game so my girly girl can kill them and sell all their stuff. Will never play as dude in skyrim, fuck that.

Holy shit, have we reached playable cut scenes of 2008 already?

is there any reason to not buy Skyrim, then again even if they announced that the discs were made of Uranium 235 and will kill you as soon as the box is opened i'd still buy about 9 copies.

well, one thing might be that if Bethesda come out and say that they blew the budget on rendering technology and hired one voice actor for everyone, and the voice actor is the elephant man.

Captcha: trints this

trints this indeed Captcha, trints this indeed.

Am I the only one who thinks the Argonians now look like the Trandoshans from Star Wars? I saw them and my mind immediately went to KotOR II...

Nope, they're still in according to that aggregate news thread.
They just haven't been featured yet. It strikes me as a bit odd when they're releasing multiple photos for one race and none for the others.

Oh well, we'll see 'em soon enough.

This Orc looks fugly. But the one they revealed a couple months ago looked badass, so it's all good. That means we have a greater number of appearance options.
Both "beast races" are really good, too. I didn't play as them in previous games because they weren't really interesting to me, but now they're serious contenders.
And surprisingly, Wood elves don't look like total dorks this time around. Still don't really like them, but they're better.
I also really dig the new Dark Elf (who's clearly white, so I guess the "Dark Elf" nickname will have to be dropped...)

So... Imperials, Bretons and High elves are left to be revealed. The most boring races... :p

Hahaha. Bretons make incredible mages. In Morrowind and Oblivion at least you could pack a whole lot of badass into one Breton. Don't mock them!

Anyway, regardless of boringness of races, it's a sausage festival. Hardly any female characters have been shown. Where are the women? Seriously, female who likes playing female PCs here. Show me the ladies.

I'm surprised how human the orcs look now. But I prefer that over the stupidly round faces they were given in oblivion. Also the more detailed the argonians get the more they look like garrus from mass effect.

Perhaps this time i'll pick something else than human, they all looked terrible to me in previous games and even then i had to install a bunch of mods to make the characters look better.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaagiiiiic.

But seriously the Argonians aren't exact replicas of real world reptiles, they have their own anatomy and I assume bodily fluids. However, I do recal an Argonian in Solshteim mentioning he didn't like it because it was cold...

Plus this is Bethesda they aren't very good at explaining things.

It isn't how many, it's how good they are.

So is this game going to be a sausage fest or are they still deciding on how to best model girls? =p
The Argonian is a female, look at the shape of the body and the...chest.

That's because the Kotaku reviewer made him look like that. Usual orcs still look badass.

That is like taking the old orcs and multiplying by the inverse of the orc in the OP.

In other words, holy shit that orc looks badass!
Please tell me I'm not going to be the only one rolling an Orc male warrior who can cast elemental spells, carring a two-handed Ebony warhammer and wearing Ebony armor, killing dragons while screaming "LOK'TAR OGAR! FOR THE HORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRDE!" in this game.

Please?
I don't play WOW. Why are you asking me?
