So what are your thoughts on the new spore expansion?

personally I believe that their just making the expansion the part of the game we all wanted and expected at first from what I've seen.

sure it LOOKS great but EA makes everything LOOK great, even a pile of elephant dung looks like just plain dirt but when you get close you notice the smell and the bugs

I got morrowind plus both expansions for 10 dollars less then that

and the new parts for the creature creator cost just as much as morrowind + expansions

Will Wright wasn't even in charge of the project after it reached the half-way point. So it's not really his fault that EA came in and fuckered Spore all to Hell.

Spore wasn't bad. Maybe I shall review it to explain. In the meantime, I have to say that while it wasn't everything it was cracked up to be, it was certainly a decent game, and since this expansion looks to be significant, I might purchase it.

If they're trying to make a mends on the promise of what Spore was going to be, they've only done it to one of the stages, and they haven't done enough to impress: 30 mission expansion pack for £20? As others on this thread have stated, there are better places to invest such money.

Spore was a fantastic experience for me... that is the first 2-3 gamethroughs. It became very obvious to me just how simplified all of the stages had become and I ended up shelfing the game (even though I made alot of content for it). I even preordered the collectors edition in high hopes *sigh*

I really wanted to like spore, because I loved the creature creation, the insane amount of detail I could put into it. But the gameplay just killed it, really.

Holy shit spore! Look at what you've done! This expansion actually looks good, and something that should have definitely been in the first game, but you've stained your reputation. You are just plain fucked. You could release the greatest game ever made and no one will touch it.
