New Star Wars 7 Teaser!!!

I don't even mind that we're back on motherfucking Tatooine yet again!

It's actually a new planet called Jakku apparently. Can't see it making much of a difference though. Desert's a desert.

I actually read that in the Youtube comments literally minutes after my post. Apparently it was filmed in Abu Dhabi.

But yeah, I'd like them to change the biomes some more. There's only so much you can do with sand (and snow, if the Stormtrooper scene is any indication).

What is there to get hyped about? They're just using iconic things from Star Wars to make an average movie and make a lot of money. The most interesting stuff about Star Wars lies in the expanded universe and in the KOTOR/SWTOR timeline. This will just be a generic Star Wars movie, with generic characters and a generic story.

Funny, one could say the same thing about the KOTOR/TOR era. TOR in particular is pretty blatant with its aesthetics, from the Sith Empire's star destroyers all the way down to the faction logos. It makes the Jedi Order of the prequels look even more idiotic when they failed to see the obvious visual cues that the Republic was turning evil before their very eyes.

Here it makes more sense, as it's still the Galactic Empire (or perhaps a splinter group). Apparently it didn't just roll over and die after Endor, much like the Imperial Remnant of the old EU.

I don't think the same can be said about the story of KOTOR. Sure they use some of the same iconic things, in some ways it's hard not to, like with lightsabers, but I find the story of KOTOR much more original than what I expect of Star Wars 7.

Bears more than a passing resemblance, doesn't it?

I don't think it's actually Revan's, but it does look like inspiration is being taken from pre-Rule-Of-Two Sith, which is an interesting development.
Speaking of which, that Destroyer looked a lot like Sith Empire ships [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Harrower-class_dreadnought], so they do seem to be looking backwards through the EU as well as the New Republic stuff.

I'm also wondering if that was an actual Dark Trooper we caught a glimpse of, or possibly just Mandalorian-inspired...

Anyways, It certainly looks like Star Wars. I don't get how anyone could have a solid opinion of the film from watching these two teasers. They don't really reveal much other than what the film looks like and who's in it.

I'm hoping it's good. It at least looks cool, and this trailer did a better job at getting me hyped than the last.

It has the feel of the original trilogy, which is more than we could ever say about the prequels. That is enough to make me care.

Looks like you haven't met the majority of Star Wars fans over the net and in pop culture.

Just having some fun is all...mostly.

I'm not actually looking forward to seeing the action stars I grew up with look old on the screen. There's very few instances where this works effectively. In fact, the only one that comes to mind at this moment is Rocky 6.

The nostalgia kick of seeing these people again is HUGE up front but it doesn't last. Look at The Expendibles as your most obvious example. The thought of bringing together all these old stars is better than the end result.

I understand completely that Episode 7 will have absolutely nothing to do with anything introduced in Episodes 1, 2, and 3...heck, it may even distance itself from sillier aspects of 4, 5, and 6 (things like the existence of ewoks and silly aliens you'd see in the cantina).

Great trailer, I'm hyped.
(Course I felt the same way about Episode 1's trailer back in the day as well)

Yeah but yet if you havent seen star wars the old reublic in a cinematic clip it shows a bunch of malgus' s sith apprentices with alot of masks similar to revans mask and that is probably 1000 years after the jedi civil war and all that jazz so im thinking a looter that has the force but I could be wrong I havent seen the shadow of revan expansion pack yet so yeah
