Well, I see there is no forum for introductions to keep posts such as this from flooding the main forums, but it feels weird to start posting without saying at least a hello.

So anyway, I came to The Escapist through Zero Punctuation, but now I follow a few shows on The Escapist, mainly ZP, Unskipabble, Escape to the Movies and Extra Credits, I've also been looking at Jimquisition but I don't think it's still quite as good as it could be. Some other shows such as "I hit it with my Axe" and "Gamedogs" ain't really my cup of tea, however I think the Top 5 is quite witty considering the premise of the show is rather unoriginal, but this girl has charm.

And anyway, I am writer, I live in Spain and I really like how The Escapist takes a serious perspective on games. I'd personally like to script for videogames one day, I like playing but it seems like most scripts in games are basically handled by baboons. I hope this changes some day, some developers prove to be quite capable in delivering good storytelling...but mostly it sucks.

So anyway, hello.

Hi. I'm from New Zealand and I think that Spain is directly opposite New Zealand on the globe. So we have something in common. I believe the common greeting is welcome to the escapist, stay out of the basement.

Thanks. Wow, 13 replies already...this forum is quite fast, isn't it? Just wondering, what is the usual way in this forum? Sometimes I see some very long topics where people just reply and never visit again, it really doesn't help for discussions and debates...I dunno, I guess I'll just try. I'm not a fan of the thousand pages topics, like that one with the sluts.

As for the basement, what am I expected to find there? Cannibals? Secret experiments? Bad poems?

As for ponies, sure, I love them. In scriptwriting class, we use the term "pony" to refer to a childhood trauma, the pony the character never had, and thus he is the way he is in adulthood. Respect the pony.

The trolls, I never feed them, although I must warn you I will often expose my opinions in rather assertive ways...just for the sake of a good debate, of course, gratuitous provocation leads nowhere, but sharp statements often lead to good food for thought...in my opinion.

PS: This captcha thing is annoying.

PPS: As for New Zeland, I only know what I saw in Flight of the Conchords. It rocks.

The 'basement' is filled with highly opinionated individuals, hence it gets somewhat toasty there.

We welcome your opinion, and you may express it whenever and however you please, just don't make it personal or the mod-hammer of doom will start leering at you.

Enjoy your stay with the Escapist... may you never escape.

I've always maintained that The Escapist is one of the most welcoming, accepting communities out there. I hope we can make you feel the same. Welcome.

Why hallo thar. Let me help you out a bit.

-Stay out of the basement. Anyone can tell you that.
-Make sure you put threads in the right forum, but it looks like you've seen that already. You'd be surprised at how many new users don't.
-When you make a poll, the "Poll:" is automatically added.
-Find some user groups you'd be interested in, they're usually pretty friendly.
-Also stay out of the Religion and Politics board.
-You have good taste in the shows here.

Good. That will get you far here.

The new series of My Little Pony has kinda taken over. (see John Funk's post)
I'm sure you will see what I mean in the next few days.

Hiyaaaa mate, I'm Munch.
Top tip, if you're thinking of posting a topic, try searching to see if it's been made before! Some people, myself included, get a bit annoyed at constant repeat threads xD maha.

If some people try to get lippy, don't encourage them. Better leave things unsaid if it's gonna be negative:].

Also, the quote button is your friend.

Aaaaand your spelling and grammar seems to be up to par...So welcome, mate!
Very distinct avatar; I'll look out for you in the coming months!

Enjoy your stay& blahblah basement& all that.

*Columbo style* Oh, one more thing: New Classic is one of the nicest lads here, so don't be afraid to go to him for any help or such things.
The lad even helped me fix my PC!

I'm pretty sure there is an introduction thread, actually. Anyway, welcome here. Don't venture into the basement, because the collective sexual frustration of this site has physically manifested itself in there, and will defile you. Asexually.
