I think one or two 'and' are OK, everything else is complete bullshit.
I have no idea what you're referring to.
Original Lara in 1-4 was a strong, capable and independent. There was any problem she could not solve, and her main weapon was always her brain.
And that's an "original" character to you? As with Bond, classic Lara just seems like a power fantasy.
Nu-Lara just MYSTERIOUSLY survives traumas that would kill a hugeass marine, immediately learns how to use each and every gun she encounters, even though chances of her ever trying to shoot a rusty WWII Japanese shotgun are pretty thin, and I do not even mention her superstrength, complete cold resistance, and olympic-level endurance she displays, all while being portrayed as a 'sweet innocent girl, struggling, always in pain, fighting those obstacles!!!!'. This is a poorly written shitty fanfic, and NOT a Tomb Raider fanfic.
Each to their own re subjective reactions to her arc (I bought it from the start to the end), but you pretty much just described most heroes/protagonists with regards to shrugging off injuries and being suspiciously capable - particularly in videogames.
And please, would you kindly take your -isms and shove them up your arse, and then go spoil some other classic franchise?
Whoah, did I touch a nerve?
And what "-isms" are you referring to, specifically?
As for a "classic franchise": define classic, or do you just mean long-lived? The older TR's are of their time and really don't hold up, it got seriously ropey from 3 on, and then when the series returned it spent several games going through a
severe tonal identity crisis (I enjoyed Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld, but jeese, talk about a desperate search for a direction. Keeley Hawes probably remains my favourite voice for Lara, though, even if I prefer the reboot character).
And I'm not sure how
I'm spoiling the franchise... unless I'm on the writing team and just plain forgot about it all.

...I actually like the old Tomb Raider movies with Angelina Jolie. There's an undeniable charm to them.
That's obviously just subjective; I certainly deny their charm.
The first one was---
okay for the era, and it had some fun scenes, but that's as much praise as I'd give those films. Jolie was okay as that Lara, but as I mentioned already, I never found classic Lara interesting or engaging.
