New Trailer Teases Titanfall 2

A new teaser trailer shows off a brief look at Titanfall 2.

It's that time of year when the games we'll be seeing at conventions like PAX and E3 give us a little taste of what to expect. Today's installment in that group is the upcoming shooter from Respawn Entertainment, Titanfall 2.

The new teaser shows off almost nothing about the gameplay, offering up a voiceover and a view of a titan approaching what appears to be an escape pod of some sort that has landed on the surface of a nameless planet.

The trailer also sends you off to the game's official site [http://www.titanfall.com/], which is also decidedly void of any actual game information, but will let you sign up to receive email updates.

Looks like we'll have to wait until EA Play on June 12 to see more. Until then, tell us: What would you need to see from Titanfall 2 to pique your interest?

All I want from Titanfall 2 is non-hit scan weapons, no auto aim, more players, more AI bots and less predictability.

I suspect I will be disappointed.

A new Titanfall? I bet it'll be a smashing escape for the week or so that everyone's playing it!

Good gravy, EA, tell us something when you've got something to tell us.

I do wonder if the devs even cared whether anyone would be playing the game a month after release. All they need to do is make a game that looks pretty, hype it up, get everyone to buy it, cover production costs and then get naked and dive into a swimming pool filled with profit.

It really didn't come across (not even slightly) that they had any plans to support the game beyond release.
Sure, with a single player game with a great story that will take gamers hours upon hours to complete, you can kind of put your feet up and be proud of it. Your work is done. But when the game itself essentially relies upon multiplayer (and therefore OTHER PEOPLE PLAYING IT) you need to be a little more active in keeping people playing.

I'd expect nothing more from Titanfall 2.

I've bought Titanfall on some ridiculous sale and got everything for like $10. I loved the game. The gameplay and maps were really solid, in fact, I would say gameplaywise it was the best shooter of the previous generation. If only the devs had more time to polish the game up. It's obvious that it was rushed.

I've seen the trailer this morning. Youtube told me to reconsider sharing it because it was still unlisted. If they just build up on what they made with Titanfall, 2 will be a great game. Only problem is, I can't get really hyped for it. My PC is bad, really bad. Just looked up No Man's Sky minimal specs requirements and I realized my PC is ancient technology that has no chance of running Titanfall 2. I wish I could buy a better one. I want to play the game so badly.

WOO!

I love Titanfall and hopefully with some more resources thrown into it they'll be able to do some awesome things with it.

The one problem I had was that after a bit the mechs all sort of became the same, everyone used the same upgrades and the same weapons for the most part. More weapons, more upgrades and just more variety overall.

And nerf smart pistol. Don't remove it, I can see how people want it, just make it so you can't snipe with something that autolocks even through cloak.

Serious question now, would you have enjoyed it as much if you had paid $100 for it, then another $30 for the map pack DLCs?

The brick like fall of Titanfall's price seems to have created two tiers of players. People like you (and me) who got it very cheap with everything included had a wonderful time despite it's flaws. Then the people who paid full whack ($100 for the base game here in the UK) and were bitterly disappointed. Priced like it was I'm not surprised EA made enough for a number 2 though.

Honestly, I believe anyone paying that amount for a game and then DLC on top of it is crazy. The only PC game I bought at full price on release was Dark Souls 2 and it was a huge disappointment for me. And even then I didn't pay $60 but got the preorder price cut, don't know how much it was.

When I bought it, most of the initial problems were solved. Some were solved soon after I got it.
They added content and later on gave the DLC for free for everyone "fixing" the fragmentation of the user base. But all that was too late for most people. I don't believe the game was worth the over $100 people paid for. I don't believe it was worth the regular $60 that most games ask for. Having no real single player and having expensive, player base fragmenting DLC made it only worse. $40 would have been a far better price point. But EA obviously thought it would be the CoD killed that everyone is going after. I don't know why they thought that. People that play CoD aren't people that would play more complicated games like TF. When I tried introducing my cousins that are vivid CoD fans, their reaction was basically "I just want to shoot things and not have to think how to move".

When I read today that TF sold 10 freaking million, I was baffled. It's pretty obvious why they are making 2.

The only fault that lies on the devs is not polishing up the game. But they were probably forced to release early by EA. Every other problem is EA's shitty business practice. Also forcing Origin on PC (I didn't have any problem with it, it worked really smoothly and only a screenshot option was missing, but people complain). It was a death sentence on PC by EA.

Aww yeah! I really enjoyed the original, as the core gameplay mechanics are rock-solid. If they pad out the content some more I reckon the sequel could be brilliant.

If you pay 100$ for games then you have that much money for it not to bother you, I mean that if it does bother you that much just wait a few months. I cant remember the last time I bought something at full price.

if it will have a lengthy campaign, i might consider it. not that the MP was bad in the first one, still had a good time, but it does get a bit blunt after a while.
so no, im not expecting much from it.

Eh could be good.

I liked the first one, I still play it to this day sometimes. If they can fix the issues that the first one had, like that campaign and the fact that there are only a few load-outs that are any good then I might be tempted. However I think I'll wait untill i see some game play before making any judgments.

To have a chance of gaining my interest, it will have to not be as bland as Battle Front, while providing a whole lot more content (unlike Battle Front), while not mentioning a ridiculously priced season pass later on (like with Battle Front). I would also like to see a proper campaign too, but none of this will happen. It's EA for fuck sake.

Well Titanfall one was fucking awesome and gave me a lot of "water cooler" moments.

Throw in a campaign, with co-op,a more robust co-op/horde mode, take out the sodding auto-aim pistol, have a better plan for sustaining the playerbase and crack down on the god damn cheaters.
