well i was usually very clued in when it came to fallout DLC, but Kind hearts sort of snuck up on me (a year with no XBL probably contributed to this..)

anyhoo, reviews have been a bit.. poor (theres a rather long rant on youtube on how Obsidion cannot do DLC - apparantly your only allowed carry 70 pounds in? I have enough trouble on hardcore mode keeping mine below 210..)

So.. it doesnt seem to bring anything new to the table.. but what i would like to know is- what would it take for the next DLC to be unmissable for you?

frankly if it included working (stealth field) stealth armour it would do it for me! as short as Operation Anchorage was for F3, the armour and gauss rifle alone made it worthwhile..

I got about half a second sentence in before I became too distracted by your avatar pic... Thanks for making my day :)

Without meaning to get off topic but I think the avatar picture has much better discussion value than honest hearts DLC.

On topic however I found the dlc to be nothing special. If I'm honest the most exciting part about it was finding the ranger combat gear. Probably not the effect Obsidian was looking for methinks.

I haven't played it yet. Dead Money is a nice DLC. Not so much for the extras, but just for the story and setting.

thats kindof my point.. Blood Money was pretty lame aswell from what i hear, which is really disappointing - when the Fallout 3 DLC came out i was so excited because i was so into the game at the time, and this gave me more of it.. with New Vegas im not bothered with either of them..

I know this is a bit sad, and Iv aleady sort of mentioned it, but its the gear thats one of the most important aspects for me.. if Kind Hearts had some fantastic new items in it I may have given it a go, but the Yua Guai gantlet!?! after I kicked ass with the Deathclaw Gauntlet in F3 im being offered a worse version of it? hell no..

maybe a flaming deathclaw gauntlet would do :p

I really liked Honest Hearts, exploring the canyon is very fun and it looks nice (it suprised me because the Gamebryo engine kinda sucks).

The main quests are kind of crappy but the characters, story and the final choice are all very well done. Also, it lasted me a good 6-ish hours if I remember correctly but that was me exploring and stuff.

New weapons are nice too. Love the .45 pistol.

Of course, I'm one of the people who loved Dead Money, so you might want to take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Honest Hearts isn't so much about the gear as it is the story. Though I do like the 45 auto weapons. As other's have said it's more of a moral litmus test with Joshua Graham being the catalyst. And as a Joshua myself can I stop for a sec and say how glad I am to have such a badass be named. Joshua? Anywho, Dead Money was interesting because of how creepy the atmosphere was. The lighting and voices of your team added to the sense of overall dread and struggle for survival. Your intentionally not given much and the enemies having to be dismembered adds to that. The Reason Honest Hearts imposes that weight limit is to force you to leave behind some of your gear to amp up the challenge rating. But the strong back perk lets you convince the Caravan master you can carry more. I think around 100. The enemies weren't what I got the DLC for. It was the new zone. Zion is breathtaking, again I liked the story. I agonized over weather to go with Graham or Daniel. And I spent a good 2-4 hours just walking around seeing what I could see. So I have no complaints. Is it perfect no. Is it good and worth your money and time. Yes.

It's 100 pounds, though I think with a high enough speech/survival, or with the pack rat(?) perk, You'll be able to take all your crap. It's a lot more fun going with just 1 gun and some food though, like starting the game all over or something. I thought it was a bit too short though.

Ok fair enough.. good post

I did enjoy the second DLC for Fallout 3 (the slave one, cant remember what it was called) for the story and moral dillema alone..

I may give it a chance then :p

If I'm honest I could never get into New Vegas like I could fallout 3. I think it is the graphics and gameplay after clocking in more than 200 hours on fallout 3 it felt like I was already tired of New Vegas because it has the same look and the same characters.

Personally I reckon the Yao Guai gauntlet should be flaming. And shoot mini-nuke clusters. In the form of baby yao Guai's. Which are also on fire. and so on so forth.

I don't think Honest Hearts is as good as Dead Money, mostly becuase it doesn't have the fear and the 'oh shit' factor of getting all your gear taken away. It's enjoyable though lots of new stuff to explore and lore if your into that.

Your avatar is a bit... offensive. :/ Not only guys on these forums ya know.

Honest Hearts has some value for its' exploration and added items. The story itself is pretty oddly paced and the quests not terribly exciting and the "moral" choice feels like choosing between two almost ridiculous extremes for no apparent reason. That being said, the frontier feeling and exploration in Honest Hearts certainly made it worth it.

I personally prefer Dead Money by far, feeling that it might just be one of the best DLCs ever made and a self-contained story that outshines even most full priced games. Not bad for something that cost me 10 euros.

From what I've seen of old world blues

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPgWDZVSN4Q&feature=player_embedded

It pretty much looks amazing from the character's to the fun new tools of mass destruction I'm gonna get it. Also their are no item restrictions for the new DLC so feel free to carry 300 pounds if your up to it. All in all it looks great.

P.S: Its honest hearts :p

Theres a weight limit of 75 but you can take 100 if you have high survival or the strong back perk.

I just took my gobi assault rifle and loads of ammo.
