New Vegas mods

I'm about to start my first playthrough of New Vegas.

What are the best mods to get for a first time player of the game?

Go to the fallout Nexus and Pick Up the Project Nevada Mod. You can thank me later buddy.

ps: This will change the living shit out of everything in weapons, balance, how guns work, damage output, etc. But if you want my opinion, I'd say it does it all for the better. Just a heads up.

Yeah, i probably should have provided a link to the vegas nexus. Sorry! If you enjoy customizing the radio and what-not there's a lot of radio mods to either get new radio stations or make your own playlist. Kinda fun.
