Whatever, just wash your hands.
I use avast antivirus and today Ive been getting alot of things blocked by it, it seems like roughly every 5 minutes it blocks something and moves it to the chest.
Im getting the impression these are probing attacks from some place else since when I turned off my net they seemed to stop but its still worrying. But none of the scans Ive done found anything

something like this keeps showing up in my report file
4/1/2010 11:51:15 AM C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\ogcu.tmp\svchost.exe [L] Win32:MalOb-AL [Cryp] (0)
and whatever it is keeps making new folders in my windows temp file, all named something like yofm.tmp or tfux.tmp but with nothing in them, probably because it was moved to the chest.
Anyone got any idea of this is a false positive or if its a net attack or if there is something on my machine that is evading the scans Ive done?

Most likely it's something that got past Avast and is trying to bring other stuff in. I suggest Malwarebytes to get rid of it.

Copied the exe into google and seems it is virus/spyware. Might have been on comp for some time (depends how often you full scan) and just activated as it's 01 Apr. Check your definitely up-to-date, do a full scan and if still getting positive send to the AV company in case it's a new variant.

it might have something to do with another weird thing that came up last night, I got a hit from my firewall about something called n.exn wanting to access the web, I blocked it but after looking it up it sounds like a virus but Im suprised that avast didnt detect it since the site Im on the guy says it did, guess Ill try the maleware thing and see if it helps

ugh, did the malewarebytes scan, found a few reg things and killed them but Im still getting hits from avast and a few min ago something tried to send me to a webpage that got blocked. I think it is the svchost.exe thing but I cant check google since it sends me to bogus sites, can anyone post any instructions to get rid of the damn thing for me?

I looked up the strings you mention and all I find suggests the malwarebytes thing. I did find a scary mention about N.exn. Can you access http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic138850.html? They have some other fixes there.

ugh this is so weird, its like something is definatly trying to take control of my comp but none of my scans can find a damn thing and if I turn off my net then it stops.... could someone be trying to take on my pc from the outside or something?

Well now that I'm a bit late and my advice is no longer helpful to you, but did you try doing a bootscan with avast?

yeah, it didnt come up with anything, it must have been a new virus or something since none of the scans ever found the cause but at the end it was looking like whatever it was, was trying to mess with drivers so thats when I decided it was a loss and to just nuke the drive, hopefully my storage drive is clean, I havent hooked it back up to check till I get things working again on my C drive
