new voxel graphics

i was browsing the internet when i found this

apparently these people have made a way 2 have very good graphics without using a lot of computing power instead by using software or something like that.

anyways i don't really know a whole lot about computers and computer graphics but the escapist does. so i was wondering what you people thought about this.

yeah i remember seeing another thread about this, and believe me, it is pretty cool, there is a video showing it, but i don't know where.

EDIT: not the video in the link, it was another one that was much better in showing the graphics.

Well utilizing software to increase hardware comes in the form of drivers. These drivers find more efficient ways to produce the pretty graphics that keep us gamers glued to the screen, and thus increase performance with every new batch of drivers released.

However, being able to utilize software only to accelerate hardware in that article is a pretty impressive matter really.
