The land starts to erode into the sea, at the rate of 5 metres every minute, (7km a day) so small islands would be screwed really fast, larger islands (UK) would be chaos, with people trying to leave, building rafts and boats, or mostly just mass-migration to the furthest inland areas, and large continents would last quite a lot longer, but have so many more people fighting over the furthest inland areas. We would probably destroy ourselves before the land would all dissappear.
