New Xbox Live Experience ...

So, now that the release of this "New Xbox Live" is upon us, how does everyone feel about the fact that the original "Themes" are pretty much pointless? Have you bought any of these themes for the 360 and do you feel that you wasted your money on this aspect of the Xbox? What would you like for Microsoft to do to help "ease" your money loss?

I'm not sure if this goes for gamer pics as well, but I think they they are being replaced by the new avatars of ourselves. So same question for those people that spent money on those gamer pics as well, how do you feel about this?

Personally, I think that we should at least be reimbursed half if not all MS points, or perhaps be allowed to get a free new theme or something to that extent.

Edit: If they are reimbursing us in some way, I apologize for not knowing, but to my knowledge, there is no such idea in place.

I actually brought this point up with a friend of mine, thank you for reminding me of it. It's sort of unfair that they are disabling our ability to make use of the themes, considering that we payed for them and there was no mention of an expiration date when we did so. What if someone (for some reason) bought $50 worth of themes 2 days before the new xbox experience came out, and they lost that $50? Obviously that's an extreme case, but we should be reimbursed.

I'd frankly be (pleasantly) surprised of Microsoft thought of this at all, even more surprised if they bothered to do anything about it, but if they don't someone should really complain or push for refunds or something. I would myself, but I'm too lazy to and being 15 they wouldn't take me seriously anyway. This is a serious case, though, and if we fought we could win reimbursals. Possibly in the form of microsoft points, or maybe free downloads of new themes.

As for themes, wait and see if yours is compatable (mine is, I use the Gears of War 2 - The last day theme, shown on the Escapist video.

I'm really psyched that it is being released tomorrow, but never really realized that the gamerpic that I bought two days ago could potentially be irrelevant within the week... But anyway, I really don't mind too much, but would love some reimbursement.

However, considering how ridiculous MS is with it's money issues (i.e. new maps and gametypes not being released for TF2 on 360 due to debates with valve as to whether or not they should charge for the DLC... valve doesn't want to), i wouldn't get my hopes up for any sort of reimbursement or even a second glance from MS on this issue... but we can always hope!

I'm glad I could remind you about it =P But, yeah...I wish something would be done about it, unfortunately a mean spirited letter asking for a refund to Microsoft would go unheard. I also have no time to do such things, being in College and on the hunt for a job >_< I barely get time to play my games and speak with you fine people here on the escapist as it is!
