So we are officially T minus 5 hours til the new year and I just wanted to know what everyone has planned?

Me personally I'm gonna be more proactive in my to do list, I already goal set but the minor stuff like paper work, DIY and more importantly personal care (health and entertainment) usually gets put on the back burner for far too long.
I have installed a white board with my daily and weekly tasks and it already has my first week of the new year written up ready to be crossed off.

everyone else?

"My resolution is not to make any resolutions, hurr durr!" There, I made the stupid joke; now we can leave the thread to people who actually have something to contribute.

1. Make sure to read at least one book by a black man, one book by a black woman, one by an Asian man and one by an Asian woman.

2. Finish Dreams of Red Chambers.

3. Watch on average one episode of something each day.

4. Buy at least one Light Novel every month.

5. Get a girlfriend.

6. Read at least 100 books.

7. Read at least 100 manga books.

8. Finish the Haruhi Suzumiya Light Novels.

One of these things is not like the others.

OT: My resolution is simple, make sure 2016 is a better year then 2015 was. It's simply, yes, but it's one I believe to be manageable since most years I manage to accomplish it. Most.

Where did all this resolution stuff start?

Become a better person than I was last year.

I have a cop out resolution, but I don't consider my plans part of my resolution.
My plans for next year thus far are...
-Go skiing in February
-Move out of my apartment in September, find someplace new.
-Illustrate a book

More lofty goals are...
-Eat healthier
-Exercise more
-Take better care of myself in general
-Improve interpersonal relationships
-Draw more

-Pick Spanish back up.

I could make the tired joke of "hur hur... [Insert screen resolution here]", but I wont. Can't really say that I have a resolution in mind. I don't have a huge amount of spare time as is (hurray for owning a shop ._.), so I guess my aim will to be to try and spend more time with my friends...?
Its 1920x1200 btw

Now that I'm done with college and I've spent the last while pissing about mostly, I reckon it's time to really get down to doing what I want to do. So for starters, I want to get my spanish back to where it was a few years ago and also seriously work on my japanese. I guess my goal is that by this time next year, I want to be able to watch something in either of those languages and understand a good 70-80% of it.

I'm also learning new instruments. I want to be able to comfortably jam on the piano and trumpet. I also want to improve my songwriting abilities and knowledge of musical theory in general.

And finally, there's the ever present desire to find somebody to love, which has been one of my main resolutions for quite a few years at this point. This year I asked someone out for the first time. I also experienced my very first rejection, but whatever. I consider that progress.

I'm going to start exercising on January 1st - Periodic push-up/curl breaks during the day, and P90X prep either early in the morning or after work. I lost 60 pounds this year, and now that I can do physical things in the house without my knees cracking or falling through the floor, I need to work on the fact that I'm so god damn weak.

That's it for the most part. Kind of low hanging fruit, resolution wise, and so damn typical of the tradition, but its what I need.

I get to work for a whole year as a reward for all my hard work over the last year. I'll be stuck in a small booth with lots of flashing lights, no not Christmas ones. My resolution this year is to keep a more open mind. Why go for something easy?

I'm going to take a pass this year. I feel that I owe it to myself having done so well with last year's resolution to quit smoking cigarettes.

I do wish all of you the best of luck with yours. Also, have a very happy new year.

Mine is to give blood.

I've been meaning to do it for, well, years now, but it's not something that I've ever given a priority too. It's just been something that every now and then I think "I should do that"... before proceeding to not do it. Yeah, it makes me feel a tad squeamish, but that's not a good enough reason to keep putting it off.

Well, the UK has a blood shortage, and there's a blood donation station about 15 minutes out of my door for the next two years. Time to put my blood where my mouth is...

[small]...Well great, that phrase makes me sound like a vampire...[/small]

I normally don't do resolutions, but I do have a few things planned out for the year that I'm hoping to finish up.

-Get a passport
-Be more consistent about going to the gym - I've already signed up for training classes, so now I have no choice.
-Finish my degree
-Apply to grad school in Canada
-Get my debt either completely paid off or down a whole bunch
-Be more social

Get my arse out of working for Walmart.
Learn to bunnyhop my bike (continuing from 2015, bunnyhops are hard).
Stave off suicide for another twelve months.
Buy a smart phone, the 2007 Samsung slider's calendar ran out in January 15, it's tiny brain couldn't handle being in use seven years later.

Make something for a lasting future. 2016 is the year of big opportunity as well as it is of possible disappointment. Also, get laid more.
