Except these days EA is anything but well-intentioned, and is more interested in Rockefeller-style buying out other companies simply to create a monopoly that serves them best, rather than allowing their parts to remain autonomous. (no matter how profitable they may be on their own). To them it's not about preserving what makes Valve good, it's about taming Valve and making sure they can still get money out of them, but are not a threat to their bureaucracy. Or at least, that's what I've gathered from what they've done to their previous acquisitions that were very profitable before EA got ahold of them and now either don't exist or simply aren't the same anymore.Pescetarian said:I like to think that if EA did buy Valve, it would be like Disney buying Pixar, and Valve would end up in charge. I still don't want that to happen, though, 250 people or so is a good size for Valve.
And perhaps you should explain that all GamaSutra "faked" was the words "I'd rather" on Gabe's quote, which doesn't really change the meaning of what he said anyway. You should also be ashamed for letting links speak for you rather than explaining it outright. It's rather insulting to have to pick through Reddit to get the full picture.Draech said:Faked

Op you should be ashamed. Repeating something doesn't make it true.
