while i don't really care who they pick for the new main villain, i would like to have them keep the Joker dead, but used for something because, at least from what i got from Oracle and Robin in the Harley's revenge add-on, Batman's been feeling guilty about killing him, so maybe have like ...small hallucinations, whether caused by Scarecrow or not, that have Joker pop up and taunt Batman as he tries to save the people and take down whoever's the new menace.

But...with the Joker DEAD, one of the main draws to the Batman franchise is gone. Who the hell's going to take HIS place? Surely not Harley, she's not even CLOSE to being as batshit insane (no pun intended) as the Joker was!
Do you have any idea how often he has 'died'?

How do you know Batman didn't carry out the fake one? It's not like he'd have a pulse...
Because they did DNA testing, clayface fell into a Lazarus Pit (And was still alive, which means now Clayface = dead), then cremated the body.
In the sequel comic.

Batman: Arkham Beyond. Anybody? No? Just me?
I'm with you. I played Arkham City with only the Beyond skin. That was awesome. I would love to see an Arkham quality game in the Beyond setting. Although almost every villain is terrible. Inque sucked.

I'm hoping he stays dead but within game they have had several thugs randomly comment on the fact that the Joker has dead before and managed to come back as well as the pit that can resurrect people, it wouldn't be hard to have the joker come back but he probably won't.

I'm surprised people are talking about the Scarecrow; from what I picked up on in the game he got eaten by Killer Croc. Same with Ra's; I can't really see the guy making a comeback after what happened to him.

I think a game set in the batman beyond alternate future would be awesome. Once it got to the point where I could switch to the beyond costume in the game, I never left it.

Realistically, I'd just be happy having more robin and nightwing involvement. It's a shame that aside from the harley dlc, the sidekicks were only usuable in challenge maps. I would have really liked it if they had more playability in the main game. Also, I'm not fond of catwoman in general and really hated her portrayal in the game; I would have been a lot happier with her not in the game at all.

I got halfway through the article before I remembered that 2013 is this year... Yay holiday release.

Easy - halfway through the game (so that it has some foreshadowing, and to avoid bringing him back straight away/back for the endgame) have Harley successfully bring Joker back to life. It could be via cloning (which was subtly hinted at in the Harley DLC) or via Lazarus Pit, but it's Comic Book World - it can be done.

However... I don't think they will. The franchise needs to spread its wings a bit beyond the Joker/Batman relationship.

I'm eager to see a well thought out Hush/Scarecrow plot, possibly with the Riddler in an even more active role. There are still plenty of good characters to pick up and play with.
I'd prefer he stay dead especially since Hamil is unlikely to return for this installment.

Ugh, I hope it's not the silver age game... that would be retarded.
Don't know what the silver age is so im not sure why that would be bad care to explain?
Silver Age Batman would be the Batman of the 50's and 60's. It wouldn't make any sense in the Arkham game series because Silver Age Batman is the same age as current Batman, but it takes place in a way earlier time period. Back when the CCA controlled content in Comic Books with an iron fist. So, it was cheesy, in my opinion. I like the serious modern stuff a whole lot better. The CCA also prevented any content that was definitively adult in nature, no blood, no no mature content, no drugs... it was just very removed from reality.

Edit: Imagine the Adam West Batman, or the Batman and Robin that appeared on various episodes of Scooby Doo.

Freakin' called it. I think it was the VGA 2012 when the Joker hinted at Arkham City. Everyone thought it was a joke...

...But I knew better.

I just hope they don't release it latear for the PC cuz of that poorly integrated Physx shit, and the bugs I got so annoyed with.

There are several spots throughout Arkham city where you can tune in to radio stations that just broadcast strings of numbers, and when these numbers are decoded with the word 'SCARECROW' they say stuff like:

"I WILL RETURN BATMAN"
"YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME"
"FEAR WILL TEAR GOTHAM CITY TO SHREDS"

You can also find a boat which inside holds loads of Scarecrow's fear toxin, as well as a catatonic inmate who has been experimented on.

As for Ras Al Ghul, his body disappears after the last mission. He might have another lazarus pit or something.

Excellent. There is something about the Arkham games that I just find endlessly satisfying.
