That is a great idea. I still go back and buy PS2 games now and then. The best part is that they're usually dirt cheap, with the rare exception of a few titles here and there that were popular during the time.War Penguin said:But for now, I'm gonna use this as an opportunity to check out some previous gen games that I've missed. Very true, but that's what I use my PC for and the consoles are for single player exclusives and split screen coop, so their MP isn't always so bad.GonzoGamer said:Also lets not forget that if you play online, the cost of the console isn't all your paying: there's also the $50-$60 yearly charge (apparently over the next 10 years) for online, and that's if they don't hike it up in the middle like MS did last gen. So if you buy a ps4 now, you're going to end up paying $900 and if you buy an xbone, you're going to end up paying $1k. And people say the pc is expensive.
Speaking of which, is the PS3 backwards compatible? I don't remember. Because that's a generation that I missed out on too.SilverBullets000 said:In junction with the Wii U I already own and enjoy, I do plan on getting a PS4 later down the line for more 3rd party titles. Both previous systems had quite a few exclusive titles that I enjoyed, unlike the XBox. It looks that trend will continue.

The old 60 GB and 20 GB models of the PS3 are backwards compatible with the PS2, they took it out for the newer models. You could always go online and purchase one of those models since I think they go for around $250 or so. Also, the PS3 uses a removable 2.5" HDD so you can replace it with any laptop HDD or SSD you choose, as long as you copy the OS to the new hard drive, but there are millions of videos and tutorials on how to do it. It's really worth it as my friend still has his and it works like a charm. Plus they have adapters that allow you to use your Memory Cards on the PS3 or use Dualshock 2 controllers for the games.War Penguin said:Speaking of which, is the PS3 backwards compatible?
