Itching for some next-gen graphics but I can't afford a PS4.

Any super good looking PC games to check out for now?

Hahahahahaha oh...

Most games look pretty great with a decent running rig. Maybe try Metro, The Witcher 2, hell, Crysis 3, Skyrim with mods. I think Tomb Raider looks wonderful on max settings and that ridiculous hair FX.
The hair physics in Tomb Raider almost crashed my computer. <_<

But seriously, current PC games are still way ahead of anything you're going to find on the PS4 and Xbox One in terms of graphics. The PS4 and Xbox One really have pretty average specs compared to a good PC, and the launch titles for the consoles aren't exactly making the most of the tech regardless.

I second Metro, and Witcher 2, those are games that'll give your PC a workout on their highest settings, and they look absolutely gorgeous (especially Witcher 2).

Far Cry 3, any of the Arkham batman games, honestly just about any graphically advanced game in the last 4 or 5 years.

Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, and Witcher are all a given.

Mostly just jealous of how slick Killzone SF looks. Heard good things about Tomb Raider. Is it anything like Uncharted?

Well if you're buying a next gen console for graphics you're doing it wrong. PC will always have the better graphics of all the gaming platforms.

Alan Wake on max settings looks incredible. It'd be even better if the game wasn't linear to the point of being obvious, but it's truly stunning, in places.

American Nightmare not so much, but far as I'm aware they didn't have the same budget, which is fair enough.

Tomb Raider plays like Uncharted: Lara Croft Edition. Which is a compliment (I loved Tomb Raider and Uncharted).

Besides Tomb Raider, Farcry 3, DmC: Devil May Cry and Bioshock Infinite are my recommendations. Incredibly good looking games.

Borderlands 2 is good if you don't mind a cartoony style.

Borderlands 2 , Tomb Raider , Battlefield 3 and 4 , Far Cry 3 , Bioshock infinite and Xcom to name a few.

Have a Tomb Raider screenshot.

To be honest, neither did any of the launch titles for any of the previous consoles. It'll be a few years before we see ones and go "Wow, that's actually impressive on three year old hardware.". Hell, Halo 4 managed to pull that off.

Metro: Last Light is possibly a contender for "best looking game yet"

Totalbiscuit did a WTF is... on it, and he really harps on the graphical quality/immersion:

Honestly the best thing about my PC isn't just playing games on the highest settings. It's getting to play all the awesome games in full 1080P stereoscopic 3D. The arkham games look amazing, and bioshock infinite was just an awesome piece of eye candy in 3D. Even games like trine, or Duels of the Planeswalkers look great in 3D. Metro last light was jaw dropping.

I remember after getting my 3D monitor the first game I tried out was witcher 2, I pooped my pants at the tutorial and flotsam was so beautiful. 3D is great once your eyes get used to it (takes a bit of training, like any other muscle you don't regularly use).

Metro 2033 was giving next gen-graphics years ago. I'd definitely recommend that. Crysis and Warface are both good in the graphics department too. I suppose the Metro sequel must be even more pleasing to the ye, but I haven't played it.

The Witcher 2 is probably the best looking game ever. Sure there's probably a few games out there with sharper graphics but in terms of sheer beauty, I can't think of any game that comes close.

All games I play look so much better on my PC than on my little Xbox 360 (which I do love). I cannot tell you how great Skyrim looks (but then I am using 30 difference mods). Even Dragon Age Origins looks so much better on my PC (but then again, there's mods!) And there's the load times (so much quicker).

At the moment I am waiting for Assassin's Creed IV for the PC (I have played it on the 360 and you still get that pixelated shading). I am really looking forward to the detail in the storm sequences and flora/fauna scenes.

If you can get past the shallow pretentiousness, and have the computer to handle it, then Skyrim is a beautiful game.

Then again, lot of "ifs" there.
